Development of pupils' independence by using the project method
Kretíková, Olga ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Holemá, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine whether it is possible to develop pupils' independence by way of the project method, which is based on my own practical experience. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part summarizes and evaluates the knowledge gained by studying the available literature on the topic of pupils' independence and the theme of project method. The part of the appendix includes final pieces of pupils' works from some of the projects described in the practical part, pupils' mind maps from their projects and photo documentation of the newly realised project, which was aimed at developing pupils' independence. Strategies for teaching at technical colleges
Novotná, Michaela ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Strouhal, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with teaching strategies used at technical universities. In general, teaching strategies used at universities are usually based on experience that teachers acquired during their own studies. University teachers are not qualified teachers in pedagogy, but they are experts in the profession. It follows that only few teachers explore new, more effective strategies that could help to understand complex technical subjects more easily. Considering the fact that this thesis can be classified as both theoretical and empirical, observation and questionnaires were used to get wider insight into teaching strategies. In the Czech republic, only few publications are aimed at the issue of university education, particularly at technical universities. For that reason, the aim of the thesis is to explore and analyse teaching strategies used at technical universities.
