Fischerova, B. Disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators. Diploma theses, Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The subject of the diploma theses is evaluation situation in the disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators in the years 2005 till 2015. In this timeframe the indicators of population trends, economic load index/economic dependence index, level of entrepreneurial activity and unemployment rate are being analyzed in more detail and a comparison of individual territories within South Moravian Region is made. On the basis of the identification of the intra-regional differences of the South Moravian Region, four administrative districts of the municipality have been selected (in particular SO ORP Hodonín, Kyjov, Moravský Krumlov, Veselí nad Moravou) to examined in detail according to the same indicators and for the same time period. The analysis shows that four selected disadvantaged areas implement the characteristics of the peripherals and thus fall into the problematic areas of the South Moravian Region. In conclusion, therefore, measures are proposed for the development of the particular SO ORP and the integration of disadvantaged areas in order to reduce the regional disparities.

Health and Its Socioeconomic Indicators - Reliability and Validity Testing of Scales

The diploma thesis "Health and Socio-economic Indicators - reliability and validity testing of the PSAS" deals with a theoretical concept of health and its socio-economic indicators. A substantial part of the work concentrates on the application of PSAS tools to the Czech population and determining whether the range is reliable and valid for Czech respondents. To determine the reliability, a complex test is used for the whole range through the value of Cronbach's Alpha, and then the Item Response Theory (IRT) is also tested. The IRT test is done using the 18-point Likert's range of responses, of which is the PSAS composed. The validity is tested based on confirmatory factor analysis, using the construct validity as well as analysis of cognitive interviews for face validity. The secondary data analysis is done in SPSS, MPLUS, R, and IRTPRO programs. The last two programs are used to test the lesser known Item Response Theory.

Fertility factors - district of Most in 2000 - 2010 period

1990 - 2008 Fertility factors in the disctrict of Most in 2000-2010 period Abstract The objective of this study was to find causes of regional fertility differences and context with social and economic indicators. Then to find situation of district of Most in regional comparison and social and economic causes of fertility developement in this district in 2000-2010 period. In first descriptive part there was made the comparative analysis of age structure and fertility indicators in Czech republic, Ústí region and district of Most. The result is different values of the fertility indicators (intensity and timing) and also younger age structure. In the second part were found social and economic factors of regional fertility differences and factors in district of Most with multivariate statistical methods. The cluster analysis confirmed the differences of district of Most and border of North Bohemia too. For use factor analysis and canonical correlation analysis the conclusion was the important factor of regional differences is especially education, but also availability and quality of housing, economic level. Analysis of Social and Economic Development of the Municipality Jindřichův Hradec

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the social and economic development of the South Bohemian town Jindřichův Hradec. Thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on the development of regions, regional policy, settlement theory and municipality development. In empirical part of thesis the town Jindřichův Hradec is characterised, and then the analysis of following social and economic indicators is made: population, economy, transport and technical infrastructure, social facilities and environment. Results of this analysis are used as basis for SWOT analysis, which shows strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the town. Based on this analysis the thesis evaluates whether town provides favourable conditions for the life of citizens and then future areas of development are suggested.

Socio-economic aspects of the Czech Canada

This work describes the selected socio-economic indicators of the Czech Canada. In first part of this work are evaluated each municipality in the territory, and then the whole area of the Czech Canada. In the work is a SWOT analysis of the area and the Czech Canada is compared with other marginal regions.
