The Issue of Foster Care from the Perspective of Foster Parents and Accompanying Workers

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of foster family care from the perspective of foster parents and the accompanying worker. The aim of the thesis was to find out what are the positives and negatives of cooperation between foster parents and accompanying organizations and to describe the experience of cooperation between accompanying workers and foster parents. The bachelor thesis has two parts. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts related to foster family care and its forms with emphasis on foster care. Family, its functions and types of families are defined, the concept of attachment, social and legal protection of children is explained. A relatively large space is devoted to foster care, its types and the process of mediation of FC. The last chapter covers the accompanying organisations for foster families, accompanying workers and the services provided by each organisation. In the practical part, qualitative research was conducted, using a semi-structured interview technique with foster parents and accompanying workers. Subsequently, the interviews are processed according to each communication partner. The research shows that the cooperation of foster parents with the AO is evaluated positively, a big role is played by the person of the accompanying worker, especially his personal qualities, the way of working and the overall approach and treatment with the family, because it is, together with the services provided, a decisive factor for the selection of the AO. In the conclusion of the thesis my main findings and the results I have achieved are summarized. I think that this thesis could be considered as a useful resource or information material that could serve future foster carers, accompanying workers as well as students in the field of social work. It could also be beneficial in improving awareness of foster care and accompanying organisations.

Substitute family care through the eyes of accompanying social workers

The aim of the thesis was to explore how accompanying workers view their role and how they perceive its impact on the course of foster care. It was about elucidating the practical work of the accompanying social worker, which greatly influences the whole process of accompaniment and also the overall impact on the foster family. The first part describes the development of foster family care from orphanages to the present day. The forms in this country and in the world are defined, as well as the legal ramifications. The chapter concludes with a text on the process of foster care placement. The second chapter introduces foster care within the system of social and legal protection of the child. The subchapters elaborate on basic topics related to foster care, which will help the reader grasp its specificities. The subchapters describe the rights and obligations of foster parents, define the types of foster care and the subjects of accompaniment, specify the Agreement on the Performance of Foster Care, as well as activities within cooperation with state entities, in particular individual support planning and the system of foster care benefits. Law protection of the underage sexual abused children in the age cathegory from newborns to the age of three

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku pohlavního zneužívání dětí v České republice. Specifikuje věkovou skupinu dětí do tří let, přičemž se zaměřuje na incidenci a prevalenci těchto případů v české společnosti. Pozornost je upřena zejména na charakteristiku tohoto fenoménu ze všech jeho aspektů, kterými jsou společenské vnímání, atributy pohlavního zneužívání a domácího násilí obecně, legislativní problematika k tématu pohlavního zneužívání nezletilých, financování pomoci poskytované pohlavně zneužitým dětem. Nadále je specifikovány diagnostické metody využívané v České republice k detekci pohlavního v komparaci s alternativními přístupy diagnostiky využívanými v zahraničí, které zaznamenávají úspěch zejména v nejnižších věkových kategoriích. Práce se věnuje také problematice orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí a jejího poskytování v souvislosti s pohlavním zneužíváním. Legal framework of practice by the employees of the Social-Legal Chid Protection Authority

1 ABSTRACT The aim of the thesis is to look on the impact of legislative framework on practice through the eyes of social workers in department of child protection. The point is approach the practice of this profession and impact of legislative to it, which can affect both the client and the worker. The theoretical part of the thesis presents legislative framework, which limits practice of department of social protection. There is summarize The Constitution of the Czech Republic, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, social and legal protection of children's law and Administrative Procedure Code. Than in this chapter are processed gestation responsibilities related to child protection. The second chapter processed discourses in social work by Karen Healy (2005). The third chapter specifies legislative framework in selected parts of child protection. These are, for example, areas of guardianship ad litem, foster care, adoption, institutional care and curator for children and youth. The Institute of Foster Care on a Temporary Basis From the Perspective of Social Workers of Social and Legal Protection of Children

The main aim of my Master's thesis, is to analyze the experience with foster care on a temporary basis acquired by semi - structured interviews with social workers of social and legal protection of children in northern Bohemia. Furthermore, mapping what positive and difficulties they find of foster care on a temporary basis social workers social and legal protection of children. This Master's thesis gets the reader introduced the theory of attachment, the historical development of family substitute care, the actual system of family substitute care in the Czech Republic, the institute of foster care on a temporary basis, amendment to the Law on social and legal protection of children, acceptance and adaptation of a child in the alternative family environment, roles and competences of a social worker of social and legal protection of children in realization of foster care for a temporary basis. As a method for this thesis was used a qualitative one, the data were obtained by semi - structured interview. At the end of the thesis, the results of the survey are evaluated and presented.
