The bachelor's thesis "Social policy in the Czech Republic" maps social policy in our country. One of the objectives of the thesis is to describe the setting of social policy, which is what it‘s based on. In the theoretical part, the concept of social policy and its basic goals are clarified. The actors who figure in it are also defined here. Furthermore, the tools, principles and functions of the given policy are defined. The practical part is divided into two larger parts. In the first of these parts, the use of tested benefits of state social support in individual regions of the Czech Republic is evaluated with the aim of finding out in which regions the benefits are used the most and thus where social problems are more frequent. The second part of the practical part is devoted to the citizens' view of the setting of social policy in the Czech Republic based on a secondary analysis of data from the European Values Study.
Phenomenon of homelessness in context of welfare services offer in Benešov city.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to familiarize with offer of welfare services for homeless people in Benešov City on the basis of theoretical knowledge and information about phenomenon of homelessness. Also to show the influence of social services offer on the life of homeless person, to call attention to other connections and importance of a form of social service help in a role of low-cost daily centre, doss-houses and field services for people without shelter. For research part of the thesis was chosen a qualitative research for its possibilities to examine some specific broadly defined phenomenon and to bring sufficient amount of information about it. Case study method was used. Results of the research part are summarized in the end. The effect of use of social services offer for homeless people in Benešov city on the quality of their lives is exposed. Discovered conclusions point out to importance of help and support which is offered through social services.

The master's thesis defines problematics of divorce rate and especially the financial situation of an incomplete family. The thesis focuses on a legal aspect of a divorce. It also defines means which are offered by the legislation of Czechia in order to ameliorate financial situation of an incomplete family. Concurrently, the thesis introduces selected approaches which can be used by social workers when working with an individual, a family or a social group. The empirical investigation depicts approaches used by social workers in sample situations. The empirical investigation was used to obtain information on workload of social workers in both state and private sector. Additionally, the data from the sample set includes information on interdisciplinary cooperation when addressing the needs of incomplete families.

Social security in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic

Bachelor's work compares the social systems of the two close countries, the Czech and the Slovak Republic. It describes and discusses the functioning of social security in the Czech Republic and in the Slovak Republic, first individually and then both systems compares in terms of the legislation, organization, financing, participation in the system and the provision of benefits. It is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter deals with the theoretical background and historical evolution of social security. The second and third chapter analyzes social security from the perspective of the individual states, and the fourth, the last chapter compares and summarizes the common and different features of the social security of those two states.
Traffic accidents under the influence of alcohol and their social consequences on the territory of the Pelhřimov district.

Traffic accidents under the influence of alcohol and their social consequences on the territory of the Pelhřimov district. This thesis deals with the history of alcohol use and explains the analytical methods for detecting alcohol in blood in traffic accidents. It describes the effect of alcohol on the drivers and its metabolism and defines the current legislation regarding the driving under influence of alcohol in the period 2007 {--} 2008 and the legislation effective from 1.1. 2010. It outlines the status of traffic accidents and traffic accidents under the influence of alcohol, which occurred during the reporting period in the Czech Republic and especially on the territory of Pelhřimov district. The work also deals with social and economic consequences of accidents caused by drunk driving, not just the perpetrators but also the other participants of the accident. Developing the work I have collaborated with experts in the area and used methods of analysis of available materials (including foreign literature), the method of comparative study. I have made retrospective content analysis of data collected in the documentation of traffic accidents of Police of the Czech Republic and Interior Ministry statistics of the Czech Republic using methods of comparative research. The work is, inter alia, specifies the methods of analysis of liability, which was developed to study the influence of alcohol and other drugs on driving ability. The aim was to determine the level of the negative impact of alcohol on the ability to participate in traffic. The second objective was to determine the social consequences of accidents caused under the influence of alcohol for parties to these accidents.
Legal and health and social aspects of traffic accidents from the injured party{\crq}s perspektive.

This paper deals with the problems of aggrieved persons who have suffered property or health damage in relation with road accidents. The paper lists two options that an aggrieved participant of a road accident may use to require the compensation of incurred damage. The objective of the paper is to map and explain the issue of road accidents in view of legal, health and social aspects as seen by the aggrieved persons to be used for general educational purposes. The research utilizes the method of a secondary and content data analysis using criminal files of the Czech Police, the District Office in České Budějovice. The analysis processed individual injuries with the duration of treatment of the injured participants as compared to usual duration of treatment in light of forensic medicine. The data of individual aggrieved persons were processed and it was studied whether they joined criminal prosecution in order to require the compensation of incurred damage. The research analysis resulted in the finding that, out of a total number of 652 aggrieved persons under examination, 290 persons joined criminal prosecution and 362 persons did not. Another part of the research examining injured persons (256 aggrieved persons) showed that their actual duration of treatment matched the usual duration in seven cases only. Duration shorter than usual was found in 50 cases. Duration longer than usual was found in 199 cases. The results of this paper can be used as instruction to facilitate orientation in this issue for e.g. road accident participants or aggrieved persons of other criminal acts.
Unemployment and its Impact on Individuals

The object of the thesis is to explain one of the phenomena of the Czech Republic{\crq}s modern history: unemployment, an issue with which the whole globalized society of the present has to cope. The thesis aims to draw attention to the impact of unemployment on an individual{\crq}s life, trying to outline the significance of unemployment in our lives and find out how much importance we attach to work and what losing a job means to us.The thesis gives a definition of unemployment, presents its evolution and types and explains national unemployment policy and ways of reducing unemployment. It studies the relations between unemployment and an individual{\crq}s health and deals with the importance of work for people. The thesis concerns unemployment and its social context. It looks at the issues of a loss of social status, a new social role of the unemployed person, his/her lifestyle and socially pathological phenomena occurring as a result of unemployment. In the end, the thesis offers recommendations to people who have lost their jobs.
