Sexual assistance as an object of media spectacularization

In my diploma thesis I deal with the issue of media spectacularization in the context of the provision of sexual assistance services. My thesis includes a critical discursive analysis of selected online posts with this topic in selected Czech media. These media are Novinky.cz, iDnes.cz, Aktuálně.cz and Blesk.cz. Since this service first has started to be provided in the Czech Republic in the autumn of 2015, I take advantage of the more active debate on this topic in later years. The aim of my thesis is to highlight the spectacularization of the topic of sexual assistance in selected media, to identify the legitimizing means and to define the discursive levels that appear in the media space. Subsequently, I focus on the actors who speak on the topic of sexual assistance in the media, whether actively or not. An important theme of my thesis is normativity as a social construct (disability studies, social roles) and the stigma associated with it. Afterwards, I used selected media to analyse the transformation of the topic through its spectacularisation and point out the disciplining of the topic through its frame. The Public's views on sexuality issues of people with mental disabilities

Subject of the thesis is sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities and important issues related to it. The main goal of the theoretical part is to introduce the individual areas of sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities. The empirical part uses a survey to find out how the public views this issue. Other aims are to analyse collected data on the basis of differentiation of the profession, for selected items on the basis of differentation in terms of gender and age. The results of the survey show that awareness of the issue of sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities is at a low level in society, which often results in shyness about talking about such a topic or taking a closer interest in it. Although today's society may seem liberal and open to sexual issues, there are still a number of stereotypes and myths about the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities that need to be dispelled through awareness-raising. Sexuality of disabled people and its realization

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of sexuality of handicapped persons and its realization. Its main aim is to chase the general view of this theme, which is still taboo in our society. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. It specifically defines handicapped persons, their sexuality and specific needs of people with different types of disabilities. It slightly describes the work of social service facilities with the theme of sexuality. Moreover, it is concerned with project "Right of Sex" and sexual assistance as one possibility of realizing the sexuality of people with disabilities. The practical part is realized through quantitative and qualitative research. There were fourteen respondents that were further dividend into three groups. First group was composed by people with disabilities, second by sexual assistants and to the last belonged experts engaged to this topic. This research identified respondent's opinion and view concerning the theme of the sexuality of handicapped persons and sexual assistance.

Intimacy of people with disabilities in context of sexual assistance

The bachelor thesis under the name "Intimacy of people with disabilities in the context of sexual assistance" sets the goal of describing the life of people in a wheelchair especially in sexual intimacy and evaluating the applicability of the sexual assistance service and its perspective. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with sexuality and intimate relationships of handicapped people and aims to overcome myths dominating this area. Sexuality of mentally disabled people and those born with a physical handicap is specified. The character of the sexual assistance as a service is described as well as its expansion in the Czech environment, its types and the work of sexual assistants. The difficult aspects of the service itself is dealt with. The institutions working in the field of informing about the issue are also described. In the practical and research part the thesis presents biographies of two handicapped people diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The respondent's view on the issue of sex and relationships of disabled people is based on the interview about his life story. Attitudes of people with special needs towards services of sexual assistance in the Czech Republic

Title: Attitudes of people with special needs towards services of sexual assistance in the Czech Republic Objectives: This bachelor thesis aims to explore and quantify whether people with special needs tend to think about services of sexual assistance mostly in a positive way or not. Methods: As a method, quantitative research was used, which was realized by non- standardized survey. Survey consists of 19 questions. Answers of all respondents were exported to Microsoft Office Excel 2007 program, in which they were processed and converted into graphs and tables. Results: People with special needs think of services of sexual assistance in the Czech Republic mostly positively. However, there is a difference of opinion between men and women. Gender view at the provision of paid sexual assistance for people with disabilities

The diploma thesis on "Gender perspective on the provision of paid sexual assistance to people with disabilities" deals with the topic of sexual assistance. How is sexual assistance perceived in our country and abroad. For our country, the project is quite new and not yet fully resolved. The questionnaire survey was focused on men and women with disabilities as they perceive their own intimacy, whether they are interested in sexual assistance and whether they would like to use it. Gender differences in the issue were clearly apparent. This survey has confirmed the needs of people with disabilities in the sexual area. Sexuality among people with disabilities

The bachelor thesis deals with a topic of sexuality of people with disabilities. At the begging, sexuality is introduced as a part of a global phenomenon of health, including brief description of ways of it's realization. Social barriers, which disallow fulfilling sexual needs of people with disabilities and their intervention, are also mentioned in a context with social model of handicap. The aim of the thesis was to map reachable opportunities of fulfilling sexual needs for people with handicap and their specificity. The empirical part of the thesis investigated ways of realization of sexuality, it's aspects, sexual confidence and sexual depression. Sexuality scale was used for this part.
