Needs of persons with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation
Andersová, Věra ; Květoňová, Lea (advisor) ; Mrkosová, Eva (referee)
Experience of patients with disabilities and their close persons during hospitalisation demonstrates insufficient understanding to the needs of such people. This issue is also discussed in foreign literature, wherein the need to establish the position of a specialized worker who knows very well the conditions of the health care facility and the needs of people with disabilities is emphasized. The objective of this thesis is to point out the complex issue of the needs of people with learning disability and their close persons during hospitalisation. Hospitalisation itself is a difficult and demanding situation in any person's life. For persons with learning disability, this situation is even more serious. The thesis aims at describing the experience of persons with learning disability so that it may serve as the basis for improving their health care.
The arterial cannulation in the competence of general practice nurses
Bošnovič, Michal ; Burišková, Klára (advisor) ; Hladká, Petra (referee)
Introduction: Arterial catherer placement by a general nurse at the departments of intensive care, resuscitation and anaesthesiology is still rather exceptional, despite the fact that this competence was defined in our legal system for the first time already in 2004 by the Decree no. 424/2004 Coll. of the Ministry of Health. The authorisation to execute this highly professional operation by a nurse specialised in intensive care is generally not reflected by the employer in the job description, although it might be one of the possible ways to increase the prestige of this profession. Objectives: The main objective of the thesis was to determine the current state in the area of arterial line placement from the perspective of intensive care nurses, to quantify their interest and clarify their readiness to execute the operation. Methodology: The quantitative method of anonymous questionnaire of own design was selected for the research survey. The questionnaire was distributed in electronic way to hospitals established by the Ministry of Health, regional government or private owners. We contacted one large hospital in every region, with the exception of Prague. The research sample consisted of general nurses working at the departments of intensive care, resuscitation and anaesthesiology, who at the same...

Kšírová, Magdalena ; Toniková, Silvie (advisor) ; Novák, František (referee)
This thesis deals with the knowledge of processes and practical skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among nurses working in the field of anesthesia and intensive medicine. The empirical part, using a questionnaire survey, assesses orientation of nurses and nurses specialists in the latest recommendations in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the related knowledge and competences in the use of resuscitation itself. The questionnaire survey was answered by 152 respondents from 3 large hospitals in Prague. There were also the results of its investigation, compared with the results of research conducted by Václav Kukol in 2010 - 2011 as part of their thesis.
