Nováková, Tatiana ; Jarošová, Markéta (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (referee)
The Bachelor thesis called The influence of the ancient art on Renaissance sculptors in the 2nd half of 15th - 1st half of 16th century focuses on the comparison of ancient works with renaissance works in that period. It aims to compare possible themes and ideas of ancient figures that sculptors at that time could use as patterns for their work. Central attention will be given to these sculptors: Donatello, Tullio Lombardo, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Pierino da Vinci and Benvenuto Cellini. In my work, we also look at mythological scenes from a viewpoint of confrontation with the statue. The next aim is the introduction into historical and political context, that had a significant impact on the evolution of the art scene.
Transformation
Mucha, Petr ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
Transforamtion sculpture points to what I as an author see as the only one truly meaningful fullfilment of human existence which is an abilty of self transformation. Finding the absolute destination.
Architecture and Art
Hrončeková, Barbora ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
The design of City Gallery in Litomyšl reacts to the viewpoints of the city’s structure with the number of volume in various heights. The volume of the building is divided into 5 units with different height levels. The main principle is the connection of urban spaces, whether in the form of terraces, which are accessible to the public and connected by exterior staircases or in the form of volumes. Volumes tactically change their height based on the purpose and filling of a given volume, the phase of passage from one elevation to another, or the desired expression. They recede and create semi-public terraces and courtyard, ascend or protrude and form dominants. At the point of direct vision from the square, the mass of the highest floor recedes, and thus does not disturb the desired expression of the church.

The glass shepherd
Dohnalová, Tea ; Fajnor, Richard (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The topic of my thesis are menhirs. Specifically, the largest Czech menhir known as the Stone Shepherd (3200 cm). The aim of this work was to transfer the exact shape and size of this megalith and materialize it here in Brno. This goal required the use of many procedures. At the beginning there was a photo shoot, then a 3D program, 3D program editing, and slicing into contour lines. Then I projected the menhir on a wall in real size and traced it to polystyrene boards. The next step was to cut out all 104 plates on a band saw and I could go to gluing and folding the whole object. The final step was to paint the object in white. The result is a simple and clean polystyrene object. I did not cover the contour lines - I present the object in the most direct form possible. The styrofoam megalith, despite its size, is a sculpture in the interior. Ideally, I would create an installation that would create a separate, isolated space for the object.
Birth
Piskova, Olena ; Klímová, Barbora (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The thesis is a continuation of my subject, "Why?", Also includes the theme of man and the environment. I started to be interested in the controversial topic of genetically modified organisms, genetic engineering. I found a personal story in it. Now it is difficult to comment on the extent to which these researches are important, but we shouldn’t stop there.

Tradicionalismus na vysokých školách a v praxi: urbanismus, architektura, sochařství, ornament, malířství a design
Adamec, Emil
Traditionalism combines urbanism, architecture, sculpture, ornament, painting, and design into one complex. According to statistics, the public favours traditional architecture and urbanism. Traditional design, computer technology, a scientific approach to theory, ornament in architecture, and scaling in urbanism are the proposed solutions here. Vitruvius, Palladio, Camillo Sitte, Léon Krier, Roger Scruton or Nikos A. Salingaros, medieval cities, and imperial or New Urbanism offer sustainability, and quality design. In heritage conservation, traditionalism provides an alternative to the Venice Charter and the Athens Charter. Accredited schools of architecture, art and design will be asked whether traditionalism is being taught at their institutions. Workshops and courses in traditionalism for students might support a specialized field of study, interdisciplinary cooperation and exchange between schools. Keeping local traditions is important for human existence, cultural maturity and a healthy lifestyle.
