Project of school garden usable in environmental education at kindergarten.

The bachelor thesis is focused on possible uses of a nursery garden for environmental education. The theoretical part defines environmental education in kindergarten and describes how we can meet its goals when spending time in a school garden. It underlines the importance of letting children stay outdoors in nature. The theoretical part is further looking into General educational program for preschool teaching in the context of environmental education. The practical part of the thesis introduces us to the environment of a garden of the nursery school in Lišov and proposes appropriate remodelling. The last section of the work lists examples of various activities that can be realised with preschool children in a nursery garden. Individual activities are classified based on the season of the year.
Herb garden and its interdisciplinary use for primary school in Borovany

This diploma thesis deals with the use of herbal garden during teaching at primary school. The thesis include proposals for activities that have appropriate cross-curricular relations. This activities will reinforce the pupils' knowledge in the area of biology, maths, czech language, art and in music. The activities also include worksheets with various instruc- tions and tasks for each point of interest.
The influence of teaching in the school garden to the agricultural literacy

The topic of this bachelor thesis was chosen depending on the trend, which points out the fact, that the youth constantly keep alienating themselves from nature. This trend also coheres with the stagnation of their interest for science and the decline in pupils' performance. The goal of this thesis was to test the influence of teaching in the environment of the school garden on the cultivation knowledge of pupils. The literary research focuses on the history of school gardens and the current state of their utilization, as well as on the issues concerning the building of a new school garden and the problems, which can be brought upon schools by it. Furthermore, the research deals with the place school gardens hold in education according to the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education (RVP ZV). The topics of children alienation from nature, its consequences and of agriculture literacy are dealt with within the theoretical section. The second chapter, named Methodology and Primary Information about Respondents, describes the way of gathering respondents for the research and its realisation, the number of the respondents, but also the manner of evaluating the used questionnaires. The third chapter is dedicated to the presentation of the research's results. These results showed that the presence of a school garden has no influence on the level of the agriculture literacy of pupils. The knowledge differed significantly between individual schools.
Utilization of the garden-pond biotope in secondary education (Comprehensive inquiry-based education program)

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a comprehensive educational program involving student activities related to the biotope of the garden pond. The theoretical part deals with general issues of inquiry-based education and the utilization of school gardens. The main contribution of the thesis is the creation of a concrete educational program, comprising seven activities which employ the environment of a garden pond. It is designated for biology and geography classes at middle/secondary schools. Each activity portfolio consists of a methodological sheet for teachers and a work sheet for students. Most activities can be carried in the environment of any water tank; some activities can be also done in the school building. The training program was pilot tested with elementary school teachers and subsequently with sixth and seventh grade students. Concurrently, an evaluation of the program's effectiveness was implemented in the form of written tests. The thesis discusses the findings from this evaluation as well as the practical verification of the suggested program that was carried out on teachers and on students.
Using school garden to teach biology in ZŠ Hostýnská school

The thesis aims on complex description of environmental features of ZŠ Hostýnská school ground and evaluating its using for teaching biology. In theoretic part the importance of school grounds for educating is introduced, history of school gardens and current state of their using is described. Next part is focused on current using of school ground and description of its environment. Floristic investigation made by author in 2014-2015 is included. In frequent visits author found and determinated 117 species of vascular plants, which is a sign of relatively high biodiversity. Finally using of school ground is compared with school book and key competences. Plans and suggestions for future improvements are given. Five work sheets with methodic suggestions are included.
The Current State of Teaching of Cultivation Education at Primary Level of Basic Schools - Monitoring and Probe Options

In the theoretical part, the thesis maps the occurrence of topics regarding teaching of Cultivation Education in current textbooks as well as occurrence of the same topics in textbooks before the general education program has been introduced for elementary schools. The practical part ascertains the student's knowledge level in field of Cultivation Education and checks the attitudes and opinions of teachers in the same topic. The data are gained using the questionnaire survey in three groups of respondents students of fifth grade of the elementary school, students of the Faculty of Education (future teachers) and teachers of the primary degree of the elementary school. The practical part consists of the research methodology and quantitative research results. The results show that elementary school students' level of knowledge corresponds to the general education program. By research it has also been proven, that elementary school teachers generally do not possess a very positive attitude concerning the Cultivation Education. Future teachers, on the other hand, show much more optimistic relationship to this area of education.

This diploma thesis deals with a utilization of school gardens for education at primary schools. It draws on historical development of school gardens and tries to emphasize an importance of their incorporation into an educational process, their positive impact on health and growth of pupils, and improvement of their skills and knowledge. Thesis also analyses relationships with Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Research itself deals with current state and utilization of school gardens by primary school teachers at Kolin district. It focuses on a school garden ownership, frequency of their usage, personal experience and needs of teachers for giving lectures in gardens. It also discusses areas of education for which the gardens are mostly used. Teaching programme for general botany in the school garden

he thesis proposes a teaching programme for general botany in the school garden. On the basis of a literary analysis of framework educational programmes, school educational plans, secondary-school textbooks of biology, assessment and evaluation of the school garden of The Secondary school of Agriculture and Food processing in Klatovy, a set of more than 85 questions and tasks has been made. The additional worksheets for pupils have been prepared just for the educational activity in the school garden. The method of direct study of nature is the most frequent one. The authentication of the teaching programme was carried out in the years 2010 to 2012 with the pupils of the aforementioned secondary school.
Possibilities of financial support for the modification of the garden at the Kindergarten

The thesis deals with inadequate equipment in kindergarten gardens and with inadequate funds for the maintenance of existing facilities. In the literal retrieval, the thesis reviews available financial resources (from the municipal grant programmes to international grant programmes, provided by companies) which could be used for maintenance and renovation of kindergarten gardens. The level of success of various types of programmes was evaluated through questionnaire methods and the results are s ated in the practical part of the thesis. In the conclusion of the thesis there is an outline of a suggested solution which could be used by prospective grant applicants. One of the outcomes of this work is the preparation of project application for our kindergarten and its administration of the grant program.
