This Master´s thesis deals with the topic of optional saving for retirement. The pension schemes of selected European countries and of the Czech Republic are described. Also the current situation and the problems these schemes are facing are analyzed. The thesis focuses on the forthcoming pension scheme reform in the Czech Republic. Further, the possible ways of the complementary pension scheme pillar financing using saving products are analyzed in detail. The objective of the thesis is to design an expert system for optimal saving product selection according to client´s individual requirements.
Comparison of Saving Products on Czech Market

The bachelor thesis focuses on bank saving products that are offered on the Czech market. In the initial part, the history and the structure of the banking system are explained. Selected products are thoroughly described. A questionnaire survey has been conducted as a part of the field study. During the survey, respondents were asked about their income, how much of it they regularly put aside and which financial products they use for savings. At the very end of the thesis, five the most common ways of saving were selected and used for comparison according to the preferences and requirements of a particular respondent. The comparison was perfrormed using multiple-criteria decision methods (specifically WSA method and scoring method). The recommendation of the most suitable saving product was compared with the answears form the survey. Liquidity, risk, interest rate and annual fee, or the state contribution were chosen as the criteria of comparison.

1 Abstract Title of the thesis: Investment instruments The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze various investment instruments, their markets and their feasibility as an alternative to saving products. Secondary purpose of this thesis is to define a model investor, create reasonable and fitting investment strategy for them and introduce examples of investment portfolios that fulfill the strategy. The thesis is divided into two main chapters, each of which analyzes investment instruments from different perspectives. Chapter One introduces the instruments in general and describes their key characteristics, their legal regulation and brief history. One subchapter is dedicated to explaining motives driving the participants of financial markets. Another subchapter categorizes the investment instruments and divides them into distinct groups. Last subchapter investigates the financial markets themselves and describes their types, structure and functions. Chapter Two introduces a model investor and describes their particular motives for investing. Two subchapters analyze historical development of selected instruments and saving products and then compare the results. Pensions Funds in the Czech Republic and their Effectiveness

The work deals with the characteristics of pension fund types in the Czech Republic. The main object of this thesis is to discover the possibility, which brings the biggest money return for the retirement. It touches both history, the present situation of the pension reform and briefly depicts the future prospects of the pension reform. The work contains summarisation and comparison of the pension funds with other investment and saving products offered by banks in the Czech Republic. The fund comparison is based on couple of criteria - the number of participants in the funds, the size of the assets in the funds, risk and average profitability All indicators are from the years 2013 and 2014. Investing and saving products are building saving, saving account and unit trust. The analysis of effectiveness of pension funds confirm that savings into pensions funds bring the biggest money return for the retirement. I mainly used annual reports from pension companies, the website of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Indicators of the Association of Czech pension companies as main data sources.
