The Problem of Regional Identity in Vorpommern.

The thesis assesses the influence of a regional development project on regional identity and vice versa. It is carried out on a project in the historic region Vorpommern in the north-east of Germany. The concept of regional identity by Anssi Palais is adopted. The qualitative case study on a development project in the district Peenetal/Loitz works with methods of grounded theory.
Changes in lifestyle in the countryside since the First Republic to the present - case study

This diploma thesis "Changes in lifestyle in the countryside since the First Republic to the present" is a case study providing information on lifestyle changes in the last 90-years in the village Zavisice and causes of these changes. The substantial change affecting all others is moving away from agriculture as the main means of sustenance. The crucial processes causing the changes in the country life the lifestyle of the rural population in studied time period were collectivization in the 50th, socialization in the 60th, centralization in the 70th and 80th and transformation after the year 1989. This thesis looks at this topic from many angles, generalizes some conclusions thus creating a comprehensive insight into the lifestyle of the inhabitants of the Czech countryside in the last century. The contents of the largest in the text analyzes the transformation of customs, traditions, livelihood and leisure, children's games and duties, schooling, food, clothing, housing, change in approach to raising children, celebrating of the religious or secular holidays and family feasts, change of associations and interest groups. Consumer behaviour difference among young people (city and countryside).

Issues of material, cultural and relationship consuption in context of late modern society are being discussed in the thesis. Differences between the social context of city and rural areas are used to describe social functions of consumption. At first consumption is defined in sociological terms using the literature. Thesis contains basic theoretical approaches dealing with consumption. Major interest is being put on analytical part of thesis, which shows findings of research. Research is divided into two parts. Qualitative part with data from semi-structured interviews, which are used to create concepts and hypothesis in order to test them in quantitative part with questionners. Research is a case study and findings and interpretations can not be generalized to whole population of young people. Data provide solid empirical conclusion and hypothesis though. My findings support idea of consuption as complex and ambivalent social phenomenon related to individualization process. Yet another social functions of consuption are revealed in thesis. Consuption as a device to define and redefine identity of individual. Normative aspect of consumption, which express itself in social groups norms. Program of village restoration Dobev, region Písek

My bachelor´s thesis is engaged in the program of restoration of Dobev u Písku - it deals with the documents, opinions and creation of this program. The introductory part of the thesis focuses on the historical, physical-geographical and socio-geographical characteristics of the Dobev territory. The following section is devoted to the analysis of literature dealing with the restoration of countryside and literature containing information on the studied region. Internet resources devoted to this area were also important; special emphasis was given to information contained in the various documents related to the planning and development of countryside. The practical part of my work focuses on the collection of ideas gathered from interviews with local experts, from a questionnaire survey among residents in Dobev village, and also from own experience and the field research conducted by the author. The result is a list of actions executable within the program of restoration of Dobev village.

Možnosti a problémy zachování venkovských sídel ve struktuře osídlení

Tato práce se zabývá především vymezením venkova v České republice, jeho charakteristikou, historickým vývojem, stylem života na venkově a především jeho sociálními aspekty, který je přeci jen odlišný od městského, i když se rozdíly pomalu stírají. Jsou zde zkoumány životní podmínky venkovského obyvatelstva a srovnány s podmínkami ve městech a nastíněny základní problémy, se kterými se venkov u nás potýká a souvislosti, které mají vliv na stabilizaci venkovského obyvatelstva a udržení ekonomické funkce vesnice. Po roce 1989 dochází k významné změně vlastnické struktury venkova a zemědělství, klesá zaměstnanost v zemědělské prvovýrobě, roste nezaměstnanost, mění se nabídka pracovních příležitostí i způsob života na venkově. Venkovská obec se stává relativně samostatným subjektem, a roste význam obecního zastupitelstva. Sociální struktura venkova je tvořena ekonomicky aktivním obyvatelstvem, mladými lidmi a především seniory, jejichž počet v poslední době poměrně výrazně roste. Předpokladem dlouhodobé perspektivy je možnost vhodného zaměstnání a dostupnost kvalitního vzdělání pro děti. Senioři zase potřebují přístupnou a kvalitní sociální a lékařskou péči. Informace, které jsou zde presentované, jsou čerpány především z výsledků výzkumů Sociologické laboratoře České zemědělské univerzity v Praze, která je zaměřena na sociologii venkova
