Communication in building a technical infrastructure for regional development

Diploma thesis „Communication In Building A Technical Infrastructure For Regional Development“ deals with communication between municipality and citizens, local technical infrastructure conditions, regional development, and municipality cooperation. In the theoretical section, there are explained basic terms and described topics of communication, technical infrastructure, and regional development. In the empirical section, there is analyzed the quantitative citizen research in the South Moravia region and the qualitative research based on interviews with mayors. The conclusion contains the evaluation of the research results and possible recommendations.

Vyhodnocení finanční pozice pojištovny a vztahu k rozvoji regionu

Marešová, M., Evaluation of the financial position of the insurance company and the relationship to the development of the region. Mendel University in Brno, 2023. Bachelor thesis. The subject of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate connection between an insurance company and the development of the region between 2017-2021 and then propose short measures that can lead to improved performance and associated regional development. The first part deals with theoretical information and the basics of financial analysis. The second part includes the financial analysis itself as well as the analysis of factors affecting the performance of the insurance company in the region and identification of key areas that may have an impact on the region. In conclusion, the thesis evaluates whether the company is an important contribution to the region or not, and then recommendations are written that the insurance company could undertake. The analysis revealed that it is a financially healthy and growing company, but it also has its shortcomings.

This thesis deals with the analysis and assessment of influences, impacts and effects of fulfilling arrangements of the European landscape convention in micro region Ždánický forest and Politaví. This micro region is located between regions Slovácko and Haná and associate 27 municipalities from districts Vyškov and Hodonín. In the thesis an analysis of the landscape structure is executed, as well as evaluation of its potential and proposals for implementation od the European landscape convention are made after evaluating existing projects in the Czech Republic where the European landscape convention has been implemented.

The impact of the activities of LAG Aktivios for the development of the region

The cooperation of the population, non-profit organizations, the private business sphere and the public administration is called the local action group. This is a group that helps from the idea, through its financing to the actual realization. It supports the development of business, takes care of the landscape and develops education. All this contributes to the overall development of the region, which is the main goal of this work. The theoretical part contains a basic definition of concepts related to the development of the region with the help of local action groups of the Czech Republic. Subsequently, the connections with regional development, cooperation of municipalities, the LEADER method or Community-led local development and its strategy are defined. Furthermore, this part provides a comprehensive view of the issue of the influence of the local action group in the development of the region. An integral part describes the influence of LAGs on the development of regional planning and association into the national network and regional associations of LAGs within the country. The practical part brings findings from the questionnaire survey and direct analysis and synthesis of the evaluation of the activities of Aktivios within its contribution to the development of the region. The evaluation of the final outputs is further based on a structured interview provided to me by the chairman of the Regional Association of the National Network LAGs of the Czech republic of the Pilsen Region. The results of the thesis bring proposals for possible changes in the management of LAG Aktivios, Especially in evaluating the results of the position of the LAG for the past programming period.

The role of regional product labelling schemes in the process of institutionalizing regions and in their development

The diploma thesis deals with regional products and their labelling schemes which have rarely been studied in the context of Czech geography. The thesis aims to identify the role of regional product labelling schemes in the process of institutionalizing regions (in the sense of Anssi Paasi) as well as to discover their contribution to the development of regions. The thesis is based on a theoretical discussion which includes the concept of region and regional identity formation, the issue of regional products as a part of the alternative food networks concept and the issue of symbolism and branding/labelling. The research consists of three parts. The first part provides a database of Czech labelling schemes and an assessment of regional product labelling in Czechia. In the second part, 22 labelling schemes united by the Association of Regional Brands are assessed from different perspectives (location, structural aspects etc.). The last part verifies and completes the findings using semi-structured interviews with key actors of the labelling schemes. The existence of the relation between labelling schemes and the institutionalization of regions was verified at each scale. The diploma thesis focuses on role of family businesses in development of the selected region district Vyškov. The theoretical part is focused on the family businesses, region, rural area, rural development and on regional development theories. The main objective is to define the role of agricultural family businesses in the development of district Vyškov. Role will be defined based on the collection of primary and secondary data and its subsequent analysis. Their role will be defined by the economic and social character of contribution. Thesis includes formulation of suggestions and recommendations that could support development of family businesses in the region and in the whole area of region.

Využívání turistických informačních center jako indikátor rozvoje se zaměřením na okres Brno-venkov

Bachelor thesis is focused on the identification, description, and comparison of the tourist information centres in the district Brno-venkov. The main goal of this work is to assess the use of specific centres as a possible indicator of the development of the region. In the theoretical part there are listed the definitions and basic concepts relating to tourism and its contribution to the region. Furthermore, it is explained the role of information in tourism and there are presented the organization of this sector. The work defines the concept of a tourist information center, its function, classification, funding and legal form. Within the centeres was even given the Subsidy programme of the South Moravian region for the year 2017, which supports their activity, and furthermore, the Association of tourist information centers, as a guild of the institution and the company promoting the interests of the centres. The work will present the explored region, district Brno-venkov, in terms of natural character and the local cultural monuments. The practical part is oriented to tourist information centre in Tišnov, Židlochovice, Rosice and Pasohlávky, where is made comparison, and the subsequent evaluation of the monitored centres on the basis of their performance, the description of activities and services, the attendance, the quantity and structure of the information provided. On the base of observed data it can be said that in the context of the considered criteria the availability of the center would, for the increase in the attendance, the subsequent greater demand for the services of the center, and therefore a greater share in the development of the area, should explored centres consider particular extensions of their opening hours. The work assesses the development in the framework of cooperation with the public sector (partnerships of municipalities), which is studied from the point of view of services provided center. For increasing attendance, and therefore a greater demand for the services of the center, can become even promotion center, where they are presented e.g., the international cycling routes in the region will attract even residents of other states. The promotion center is also beneficial in the matter of the presentation of the whole region at tourism fairs. Thanks to the laid down criteria are tourist information centres judged as one of the factors of successful development of the regions.

Znevýhodněná území Jihomoravského kraje dle vybraných demografických a socioekonomických ukazatelů

Fischerova, B. Disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators. Diploma theses, Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The subject of the diploma theses is evaluation situation in the disadvantaged areas of the South Moravian Region according to selected demographic and economic indicators in the years 2005 till 2015. In this timeframe the indicators of population trends, economic load index/economic dependence index, level of entrepreneurial activity and unemployment rate are being analyzed in more detail and a comparison of individual territories within South Moravian Region is made. On the basis of the identification of the intra-regional differences of the South Moravian Region, four administrative districts of the municipality have been selected (in particular SO ORP Hodonín, Kyjov, Moravský Krumlov, Veselí nad Moravou) to examined in detail according to the same indicators and for the same time period. The analysis shows that four selected disadvantaged areas implement the characteristics of the peripherals and thus fall into the problematic areas of the South Moravian Region. In conclusion, therefore, measures are proposed for the development of the particular SO ORP and the integration of disadvantaged areas in order to reduce the regional disparities.

Potenciál cestovního ruchu regionu Apurímac (Peru)

This bachelor thesis is focused on analyzing socio economic, cultural and natural environment in region Apurímac (Peru) and on suggesting possibilities and proper solutions for its successful development. The main focus is research of recreation potential in region and its effective usage. The theoretical part of this study describes in its first chapter socio economic, natural and touristic situation in Peru as a whole. The Next chapter describes those factors solely on Apurímac and analyses localization and realization tourism prerequisites. The practical part consists of the first chapter containing SWOT analysis, that tries to summarize potential of region. The next chapter is offering solutions, which tries to respect previous conclusions. The main aim of these solutions is creating the best possible development strategies for tourism in region.
