Social housing, Brno
Mašková, Klára ; Krupica, Roman (referee) ; Sátora, Josef (advisor) ; Petříček, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis is based on a project created at the studio AG 32. The task is the project of social housing for a Romany ethnic group. The project seeks to respect the specifics of a Romany housing, especially the high number of family members. Location of the project is in Brno – Maloměřice, near the river Svitava, at the end of an area of family houses. The project is composed of 13 family houses, grouped into duplexes and one group of three houses. Housing is complemented by public spaces, such as small parks or playgrounds. The duplexes are chosen as a compromise between the requirement of high utilization of the land and the aim to respect the character of the surrounding buildings. All the houses have the same layout. According to the changes caused by different position, the houses are divided into the house “A“, house “B“ and house “C“. House “A“, which is in the south-eastern corner of the complex, is the subject of this bachelor’s thesis. The houses have two floors. The houses are oriented from the east to the west. The layout of the houses is a longitudinal three-tract. There is a corridor in the middle of the house and the bedrooms are on the east side and on the west side of the house. The house is meant for a family of 12 members (parents and a high number of children). There are several bedrooms, one living room, bathroom and toilet in each floor. Considering the social aspect of this housing, there is only one kitchen in the house, which is situated in the second floor.

The downside of distance learning for children from excluded localities.
TROJANOVÁ, Karolína
This bachelor´s thesis deals with distance learning of children from socially excluded localities, in particular from Prachatice District and České Budějovice District. The lock down of schools during the COVID-19 pandemic caused the shift to distance learning. This type of education was demanding for all participants, both teachers and students. Children from socially excluded localities generally have worse access to education and this type of education meant a significant change and a lot of troubles for them. The theoretical part explores social exclusion, distinctive features of the localities, modern technologies and distance learning and its potential risks and consequences. The practical part was realized by means of a qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. The aim of this thesis is to look into the distance learning of children from social excluded localities, not only from the children´s point of view but also their parents´, teachers´ and social workers´ perspective. During the interviews, all of them described difficulties and benefits they noticed in the course of distance learning. The analysis of the research findings showed that all respondents´opinions of distance learning were largely negative, but some certain positive could be found, too. I emphasise the childrens´ opinions, because they were most related to the distance learning. The communication with them was quite difficult, some of their answers were brief and indiferent but most of the children had a negative attitude to distance learning. Predominantly, they missed the contact with their agemates. Social workers and teachers enumerated also benefits - children extended their knowledge of IT and learnt how to work with modern equipment (tablet, PC, notebooks). Parents were very stressed, when they had to go to work, they feared for their children who stayed at home without supervision. Distance learning made demands on families that became evident in the formo f mental strain on both children and parents.
Social work with Romany minority in Týn nad Vltavou
NOVOTNÁ, Tereza
The bachelor thesis presents an insight into social workwith the Roma minority in Týn nad Vltavou. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to determine the current implementation of social work with the Roma minority in Týn nad Vltavou. As a research question, I set out - what methods and techniques do social workers use when working with the Roma minority. A quality strategy, a method of questioning and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen for the research part. The research took place in the South Bohemian town of Týn nad Vltavou, where social workers from 4 different organizations were contacted. The research showed that social workers treat each client as a unique being, regardless of race, prejudice or stereotypes and do not make any distinction between majority and minority clients. Interview, field and community work are considered to be the most frequently applied methods and techniques. Approaches used by social workers, include psychosocial, group, client-oriented and task-oriented approaches. I see the scientific benefit of my bachelor's thesis in understanding the Roma minority, how to work with them as social workers as appropriately as possible and how to achieve full-fledged results. In my opinion, it would be appropriate to expand the offer of field services, as the natural environment of clients means success in social work, especially with the Roma minority. I also consider to be important a greater involvement of Roma fellow citizens in the Community Center of Belonging (Vltavotýnska), where they could jointly participate in activities within community work.

ŠEDIVCOVÁ, Daniela
The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is devoted to multicultural nursing, Roma ethnics, Romany history, Romany family, lifestyle and communication with patient from minority community. There are also topics such as pregnancy and childbirth, dying and death and, last but not least, Romany attitude towards health and disease. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is focused on Romany patients who have been hospitalized in various departments in the hospital and nurses from inpatient wards who provide nursing care during their hospitalization. For the research part of this bachelor thesis, a method of qualitative research was used, using semi-structured interviews with patients from minor community and also with nurses from the hospital. The aim of the thesis was to find out what are the specifics of nursing care for a Romany patient. One of the most important specifics of nursing care for a Romany patient is repeated education on ongoing treatment and nursing care and the need to place great emphasis on intelligible information during hospitalization. Another aim was to map out the most common problems encountered by Romany during hospitalization in the hospital, such as the feeling of limited freedom, separation from family and disturbed privacy. The third objective was to map out the problems encountered by nurses in nursing care of a Romany patient. Among the main problems mentioned, the nurses have encountered difficulties in adhering to the set rules of hospital facilities and insufficient or limited cooperation and communication with these patients. The obtained answers from the interviews of the interviewed nurses and Romany patients were classified into individual categories and subcategories. This bachelor thesis could raise awareness of this issue among healthcare professionals and improve the quality of nursing care for Romany patients during their hospitalization. The data and information obtained were summarized and processed in the information leaflet for nurses who treat patients from minor community.
The motivation of Roma childern to education and learning
Procházka, Martin ; Komárková, Tereza (advisor) ; Sedláčková, Daniela (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the Romani children and their motivation for learning. It is based on a widely believed idea that motivation of the Romani ethnic group in general is different from the vast majority of population. In practice this problem may manifest itself when the children in question are unwilling to learn, they disrupt the educational process, they refuse to go to school and discontinue their further education as such. The theoretical part of the paper is focused on describing Romani people and their particularities connected with the family environment in which the Romani children are brought up and which strongly forms their attitudes. It also determines the amount of motivation for learning as a starting point for success in terms of education. Motivational factors depend on the value of education in the broader socio-cultural context of the Romani minority. The practical part of the thesis is based on the ethnographic research. The purpose of the research has been to analyze motivation of the Romani children for education.
