Title of bachelor thesis: The Role of Occupational Therapist in Addictology Abstract of bachelor thesis: This bachelor's thesis is concerned with methods of occupational therapists and their work with patients who suffer for substance use. The first aim of this thesis is to find the role of occupational therapist in work with an addiction in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first theoretical part defines addiction with dependence factors, system of an addiction care, relationship between occupational therapy and addictology, role of occupational therapist in a multidisciplinary team and possibilities of intervention that occupational therapists have in work with these patients. The second part includes analysis of 4 interviews with occupational therapists who are based in Czech Republic in different facility and who work with patients with addition. The interview contained a general chapter characterizing the facility, patients, an occupational therapist's practice; further defining the general role of the occupational therapist in addictology; the role of an occupational therapist in a multidisciplinary team; occupational therapy methods, standardized tests...
Comparison of the role of an occupational therapist on department of inpatient rehabilitation care in Ghent and in Prague.

The bachelor thesis studies the role of occupational therapist on department of rehabilitation. This is a comparison between a Belgian hospital UZ Gent and two Czech hospitals: General University Hospital (VFN) and University Hospital Motol in Prague. Qualitative research was applied in this thesis. Gathering information was carried out since October 2012 till June 2013 using following sources: literature, internet sources, semi- structured interviews with four occupational therapist in three different hospitals on four departments. The result of processing the information was the comparison of the role of occupational therapist on the inpatient rehabilitation department. This comparison provides an overview of possibilities of occupational therapy intervention in hospitals. The environment, health care and rehabilitation system of Belgium and Czech Republic, occupational therapy tests and assessments and occupational therapy in inpatient care itself are described in theoretical part. Methodology research and research results are included in practical part. It focuses on the concept of case management. This is a coordinated manage of case. Informs about the possibilities to connect services with the user and to coordinate the various phases of rehabilitation for spinal patients whose treatment is lengthy and takes place in many medical facilities. Furthermore, there also we find out what services the case managers offer to users. Case management is widely used abroad but in our country is developed gradually and with considerable delay. We will find out whether it be used in this patient group in our country and how. We will learn how looks the organizations system of rehabilitation in selected facilities, interconnection of rehabilitation and information on spinal program in the Czech Republic and abroad.
