Shifts of news values of photographs in the year-books of Týden and Pátek lidových novin magazines

The topic of the thesis is the comparison of photographs in year-books of magazine Týden and year-books of Lidové noviny newspaper from the point of view of the News values, as set by Johan Galtung and Mari Ruge and their successors, and also with respect to other qualities and values which are crucial in the process of selection of news photographs. The year-books of chosen media are the summaries of their production of given year, they are the selection of events which are considered the most important of that year. From the visual point of view, the year-books have much more space devoted to photography than their standard issues. The number of photographs and their size are therefore much higher. The thesis compares two pairs of year-books with a nine-year interval between them. This makes us compare the shifts and changes of their qualities in time, using a quantitative analysis research. The important part of the thesis is devoted to the routines of editorial staff, who are responsible for the selection of photographs. To explain this part, we used interviews with photo-editors or image editors. Ročenka navazuje na předcházející zprávy a předkládá materiály týkající se zatížení vybraných lokalit České republiky vybranými polutanty. Ročenka nabízí dva pohledy na soubor dat z let 1995-1997: hodnocení čtyř matric (objemové krmivo, pšenice, olejniny a pyl) polycyklickými aromatickými uhlovodíky a těžkými kovy (Cd, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb a Zn) pomocí metody tzv. fuzzy shlukování a interpretaci dat pro polycyklické aromatické uhlovodíky. Dále je ročenka doplněna výsledky stanovení perzistentních organochlorových kontaminantů v rybách (1995-1997) odchycených v tzv. komplexních lokalitách a zhodnocení zatížení vybraných lokalit Moravy postižených záplavami v roce 1997.

The Business Environment in CR - The Main Problems

The goal of this thesis is an analysis and a description of the main problems of the business environment in the Czech republic. At the beginning of this thesis there is an analysis of a business environment and an identification of the main problems in CR based on the results from various yearbooks. In the second chapter there is a description of these problems and their solution. The third chapter describes the consequences of the world economic crisis on the Czech business environment.
