Mechanisms of the controlled food consumption within the eating disorders and their use in addictology: qualitative study
Česalová, Michaela ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Rychlá, Kateřina (referee)
Background: One of the great recent topics in addiction medicine is controlled use. Despite not having a clear definition, the term is universally associated with addictive substances. However, its use can also be found in eating disorders. Individuals who are trying to recover from eating disorders must eat in a controlled manner. Unlike addictive substances, this is not a choice, as food is essential to life and abstaining from food is not an option, like abstaining from an addictive substance. I find this connection very interesting and therefore I would like to deal with the mechanisms of controlled eating and its comparison in addictology in my bachelor thesis. Aim: The core of the research is to map the mechanisms by which people with eating disorders engage in controlled eating. In this thesis, I am looking for mechanisms in two types of eating disorders, bulimia and binge eating. The second aim is then to compare these mechanisms with controlled eating. For my thesis I have chosen controlled alcohol use. The third aim is to compare how these mechanisms also coincide with addiction treatment in addiction medicine. Methods: The data collection will be done through a semi-structured interview, the interview will have a prepared set of questions, but also leave room for new questions as the...
Anorexia nervosa - recovery
Chudačíková, Dominika ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
The rigorous thesis deals with anorexia nervosa as one of the basic forms of eating disorders, with emphasis on the very common chronic progression of this serious psychiatric illness. This thesis is based on the scientific fact, that conspicuous eating habits, constant control of thinking and behavior, as well as self-perception disorders, are observed in most cases, even in already cured patients. Risk factors such a long-term stress or prone personality, can result in the acute phase of anorexia nervosa. The rigorous thesis is qualitatively focused. The chosen methods of data collection are a questionnaire survey and a following semi-structured interview. The condition for participation in the research is the past experience with anorexia nervosa, without the current presence of the acute phase of this disease. The main goal of the rigorous thesis is to take a look, through specific stories of interviewed respondents, on individual ways of the recovery from the acute phase of anorexia nervosa, to map their current feelings, needs and burning issues. Based on the survey results, the outcome of the rigorous thesis are the specific recommendations for individuals who are prone to the emergence of recurrence of anorexia nervosa. These recommendations should lower the risk of relapse of the acute...

Mindfulness based relapse prevention
Bentley, Anna-Alexandra ; Čiberová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Gabrhelík, Roman (referee)
This bachelor thesis summarizes the current state of knowledge in the field of mindfulness-based relapse prevention. Over the last few decades, mindfulness has become part of several psychotherapeutic programs and has shown promising results in the treatment of a wide range of chronic diseases, including addiction. The starting point for writing this work is the absence of a document that would summarize the current state of knowledge in this field and the possibility of applying a relapse prevention program based on mindfulness in the Czech Republic. In the first part of the work, we briefly deal with cognitive-behavioral therapy and its relationship to the issue of addiction. Subsequently, we present the theory of relapse prevention according to Marlatt and Gordon, which is the most commonly used treatment intervention so far. The main part of the work is a description of the 8-week manualized program Mindfulness-based relapse prevention (MBRP) and a proposal for the implementation of this program in the system of care for addicts in the Czech Republic. The partial goals of the work are to describe the proposed psychological mechanisms of action. Methods of source analysis and semi-structured interviews were used to meet the objectives of the work. The result of the work is a survey that provides...

Zdeňková Kroužková, Pavlína ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Svěcená, Kateřina (referee)
BACKGROUND: Substance dependence, but also the period of treatment of the addict, can lead to an effect on the nutritional status or the development of another disease that is not related to the primary addiction. Appropriate inclusion of nutritional therapy in the treatment of an addict can affect not only his or her health but also the prevention of relapse. OBJECTIVE: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to develop a comprehensive overview of the impact of nutrition on the treatment of substance abuse and relapse prevention. METHODOLOGY: The bachelor's thesis is elaborated by the method of theoretical-critical analysis, which allows to compile hitherto known knowledge on this issue. To create an educational material for patients, the form of educational material was chosen, the so-called printed word method, the leaflet includes nutritional recommendations for the treatment of addictions and the principles of the Mediterranean diet. FILE: It was drawn from more than 115 scientific studies, articles and books that formed the research file. RESULTS: Current knowledge shows that nutrition in its entire spectrum of nutrients, vitamins and minerals affects not only physical but also mental health. The intestinal axis, which is mainly affected by omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, simple carbohydrates....

Kubátová, Michaela ; Reichelová, Lenka (advisor) ; Pavlovská, Amalie (referee)
The aim of this qualitative study was to map the preparation and process of relapse prevention programs in therapeutic community for treating addictions in Czech republic called Magdaléna o.p.s.. The next aim was to describe the specifics of these programs and analyse methods that are mostly applied. For fullfilling these aims, four methods were chosen: analisys of documents, semistructured interwiews with the members of the team of therapists, observation of the researcher in the specific relapse prevention program during her internship and one semistructured interview with client of this therapeutic community. Schizophrenia: Prevention of relapse and re-admission to psychiatric hospital after treatment
Aarseth, Erling Becker ; Bankovská Motlová, Lucie (advisor)
It has in this review article been cited several different studies and sources, all concerning the prevention of relapse of schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders; The different approaches to treatment (programs, type of psychotherapy etc.) have been discussed according to evidence based research and randomized controlled trials. Although some explanations have been given about terms used in the literature, as well as some definitions to enable classifications in future studies, it has been focused only on the preventive measures used in schizophrenia; a detailed description of different subgroups of schizophrenia, as well as detailed descriptions of pharmacology in euroleptics is beyond the scope of this article. The recognition of relapse symptoms was first considered and defined, and the different approaches was then discussed; Outpatient treatment plans and relapse prevention plans, as well as the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy and psychotherapy have been discussed in subsequent chapters. In this section, it was especially focused on the ITAREPS program and its impact on the relapse prevention. The role of medications was then defined and supported with clinical studies and trials.
Relapse of the drug addicts during after-treatment
BRANDOVÁ, Nikola
This thesis is focused on phenomenon called relapse. Specifically relapse in drug users who have an experience with after-treatment. In the theoretical part, I provide the view on drug addiction, treatment, after-treatment, PREVENT after-treatment centre and relapse itself. The empiric part contains target of research that deals with getting more information about facts related to relapse, how it is reflected by the addicted during the treatment and after it. It is used the method of semistructurated interviews whose transcription I consequently analyzed in accordance with the embedded theory. The analysis went first on the open coding level, later on the axial coding level.
