Mobilization strategies of the non-systemic right-wing movements in Russia

The thesis explores the mobilization strategy of the non-systemic far right in Russia. The study focuses on two aspects of this phenomenon. First, it examines the mobilization strategy and second, it analyses its impact on the success of the far right's political demands. The thesis applies the theoretical concept of social movement and the classification of collective action by Sidney Tarrow. Mobilization is a complex issue that cannot be researched as an isolated event. For this reason, the thesis also focuses on the determinants that precede such mobilization and that, simultaneously,affect its form and strength. The thesis concludes that the most effective mobilization strategy is to concentrate on organizing disruptive and episodic actions in which the condition of the presence of an inter-ethnic conflict must be met. Among the typical features of such disruptive and episodic collective actions, the following can be listed: a requirement for displacement of the non-Russian population from the conflict area, the formation of local security and political strutures, and effective work with disinformation and media in general. Racial Segregation in Public Transportation in the United States of America in 1820-1914.

This bachelor thesis describes and explains the reasons for racial segregation in public transportation in the United States of America since 1820, when the first records of racial segregation in New Orleans can be found. Then it outlines the fight of African Americans against racial segregation on railway until the court case of Plessy v. Ferguson in 1896. Afterwards my thesis employs itself with this case, reasons and circumstances of this case and its process. Lastly my thesis goes into the changes of the tactics of the fight of African Americans against racial discrimination and their fight against the concept of "separate but equal" in public transportation. On the New Orleans example my thesis outlines the emergence of African American movements and their self-awareness. This thesis also shows the development of African American emancipation from the original fight against unequal accommodations till the struggle to end segregation itself. My thesis is trying to describe these changes on a chosen court cases and on certain laws to show a way, which the African Americans went in their struggle for equality. My thesis is trying to confirm or disconfirm hypothesis that white people had no problem with black passengers as long as the domination of white race over the black one was maintained.

What does it mean be Gipsy in our society

My Thesis is aimed at the life of the Romanies in Czech society. The topic was chosen intentionally as relations between the Roma minority and the members of the major society belongs to current topics, and although the Romanies have already been living at our territory for several centuries they still remain unknown for most of the inhabitants. The aim of the Thesis was particularly to collect information on how the Romanies themselves perceive thein life in our society and to open discussion about different topics then e.g. crime or poverty. The scope was influenced by my owen work with Romay people and the isme is really familiar to me. The Thesis is dividend into two parts. The theoretical part describes the history of the Romanies, thein present situation in the Czech republic and deals with topics like racism and extremism. The practical part is based on qualitive and quantitative research. The first part interprets data obtained within a field research in selected location of České Budějovice. The research was performed in the formo f semi-controlled interview in May and June. The sekond part is based on the technice of content analysis of a primary document. A Romany magazíne Romano hangos was chosen for the purpose of the research. The selection set of my analysis consists of all the 2008 issues of Romano hangos magazíne. An article is the basic selection unit. To qualify for inclusion into the content analysis an article had to contain communication of how the Romanies perceive thein life in our society. The research results confirm that Romanies still feel like foreigners in our society.
