Women's Political Participation in Contemporary China

The rise of feminism began in the 18th century, and it attached great importance to the struggle for women's political rights and the improvement of women's political status. Whether women can have the right to speak in the political field is a prerequisite for women to strive for other rights in social life. China's equality between men and women was written into the Constitution in 1954, put forward as a national policy in 1995, supported by the Law on the Protection of Women's Rights and Interests in 2005, and then reflected in Report to the 20th CPC National Congress. This developmental trajectory signifies the ongoing progress of women's political participation in present-day China. However, owing to deeply ingrained traditional ideologies and historical institutional factors, women's status and political engagement remain suboptimal and continue to encounter obstacles. The study begins by explaining the research topic from a theoretical perspective and further analyzes it in the context of China based on previous studies. Gender equality policy in relation to quotas

The aim of thisthesis is to describe the implementation ofequality policy between women and menin relation to quotas as a toolfor balanced representation of women andmen in leadership positions. Despite the fact thatmore than halfof university graduates are women, their representation in decision-making positions does not reflect it.Moreover, the higher post we consider the lower representationof women we find. In relation to the identified problem, it must be said, that thepolicy for equal opportunities for womenand men has shortcomings concerning implementation of equality.The starting point and support could be a quota system which is beingpushed, as well as the equality policies,by the European Union. Its applicationto the Czech environment is not easy; it faces numerous obstaclesand rejection both from public as wellas from management itself.
Analyse of Protected Work-rooms with Regard to their Rise in Civic Sector and Trading Companies

Presented thesis deals with theme of protected employment of people with disabilities as one of the posssible ways of their integration into mainstream society. Unemployment, potential negative impacts of work in protected conditions and the risk of social exclusion are in this thesis presented as a social problem, in the solution of which are to some extent involved participants of all three sectors - the state as well as organizations of private profit- and non-profit sector. The theoretical part describes the current system of employment support for people with disabilities in our country and its effectiveness, and analyses the potential impact on lives of this group of citizens. The thesis also includes research conducted within protected workrooms, operated by the civic sector organizations and business companies. Its main objective is to determine whether and how the examined employers contribute to development of skills, vocational qualification and motivation of the disabled citizens for a possible moving into the open labor market and the mainstream society.
