Utilization of Maria Montessori Pedagogy Teaching Aids in Classes with Mentally Handicapped Pupils

The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to evaluate a long-term use of Marie Montessori's teaching aids in education of pupils with mental impairment. The theoretical part outlines a new paradigm of the whole discipline of special pedagogy and defines the subject and objectives of psychopaedia. A separate chapter is The following chapter explains the term mental disability and the development of the related terminology. Dedicated to the teaching of pupils with special educational needs. The last chapter describes the scientific education of Marie Montessori, the principles of Montessori pedagogy as an alternative way of education and is being concentrated on prepared didactic material and its use in work with children with mental deficiency - mental development disorder. The research process in the practical part is implemented by the method of qualitative approach and the research design of case study and partly multiple case study too. Furthermore, there were implemented qualitative data collection techniques such as the method of participated observation and in-depth interview, an analysis aimed at looking into the level of school skills and the results of activity in specific areas during one school year. A researcher's diary and documentation study were used as well. The concluding part presents the succesfull confirmation of the given aim based on the research and obtained theoretical fidings. There is an evaluation and analysis of the achieved educational goals in particular subject matter of Mathematics with a long-term application of Montessori pedagogy teaching aids while teaching particular pupils with mental handicap/disability. The use of other aids of this pedagogical system even outside the observed area proved to be beneficial.
Development and transformation of terminology and semantics in the Czech psychopaedia

ANOTATION: This study investigated terms contained in nomenclature of czech psychopaedia, especially their historical (etymological) and semantic (stands for those terms) purport. The study consists of theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part is dedicate to history and etymology of terms, that are used in czech psychopaedia. First chapter - Introduction to the topic - defines the term of mental retardation and the term of semantics. Second chapter - History of czech psychopaedia terms - is dedicate to history and experts, authors of terminology that is used in connection with mental retardation across czech lands. Third chapter - Etymology of terms used in czech psychopaedia - is introducing us into the etymological analysis. Practial part - research in form of questionnaire, aims to map changes in understanding of these terms by generations and its inclusion into different layers of vacabulary. The exclusive purpose of this study is to map progression of the the meaning of the term and changes in nomenclature.
Theatre work of people with mental disability

The subject of my task deals with the work of disabled theatre performers with the aim to analyze and describe the entire process of creation of a theatre performance in an amateur assemble. Furthermore, the benefit of the dramatic production for both personal as well as social development of the disabled performers, derived from the theoretical assumptions, was evaluated. The work at first highlights the features and classification of the metal retardation degree and is trying to inform about very special expressive approaches in both therapeutics and pedagogy. Much attention is paid to the drama-related therapies, such as dramatherapy and especially teatrotherapy which will underline the outcome of the whole creation process - a performance. The dramatic production itself, set within the framework of the expressive abovementioned therapies, is influenced by the way of the dramatic education and, therefore, its fundamental principles and methods of its creation are presented as well. Through the common instruments employed in the quality research, i.e. the observations and interviews with the participants in the drama-creation scheme, the whole process of the performance creation from rehearsal to the premiere is explored. Creative Games for handicapped Children with an interdisciplinary Education outreach to prosocial

The theoretical part various concepts related to personality development of individuals with mental disabilities are explained, also their prosocial education and personality development by art education is mentioned. The practical part focuses on the implementation of a project with an overlap to prosocial education. The project will create a model scheme for working activities with intellectually disabled people.
