"Decided otherwise..." The behavior of Czechoslovak paratroopers arrested in the territory of Ptotectorate 1941- 1943

This thesis is focused on fate of Czechoslovak paratroopers who were arrested by Nazi forces after being dropped into the territory of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. In several cases paratroopers turned themselves in to the police authorities voluntarily. The goal of this thesis is the analysis of paratroopers' behavior during the interrogations with focus on the information about the resistance and other paratrooper actions they gave to the Nazis. If the paratrooper was persuaded to collaborate with the Gestapo the thesis analyzes the collaborative activity and its results. Anti-Nazi Resistance in Rychnov nad Kněžnou Region from 1939 to 1945

Diploma thesis Anti-Nazi resistance in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region from 1939 to 1945 focuses on anti-Nazi resistance during the Second World War, specifically in eastern Bohemia, in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region. The introductory part of thesis briefly summarize situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and anti-Nazi resistance in general, its main centers including leaders and related events. In the next chapters, the thesis watches situation in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region from 1939 to 1945. Records from chronicles will serve as a main source for these chapters. Next topic is dedicated to resistance groups which operated in this area. Especially their activities, persons and cooperation with other resistence groups. Here, among other things, the written memories of members of the resistance will be used as a source. Next, thesis studies situation after year 1945 - the one of the sources of activity of resistance groups there are written confirmations which were discovered after the end of the Second World War. Established target of the thesis is to introduce organization of anti-Nazi resistance in this area, Rychnov nad Kněžnou region, in the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia. Demonstrate bravery od ordinary people who were active in the resistance groups even if they know that this decision...

Chrudim region in 1945

Presented bachelor thesis is a micro-historical view into history of the Chrudim region during the last months of the Second World War. The purpose of thesis is to give the most widely view of the events and changes in the region, which hit the population. The problems in the economic area, which were the most significant, perceptibly changed everydayness of the local inhabitants. Analysis of the anti- Nazi resistance especially partisan movement, with which were connected the formation extensive anti-partisan machinery in the form of Sonderdienststelle Chrudim, is also included. The integral part of the thesis is the analysis events at the beginning of May 1945, taking power of the Revolutionary national committees, retreat of the German army and its conflicts with insurgents. Describes events are put in the broad historical context. The main sources of the thesis are the archival materials of the regional origin.
