FITkit CAN Implementation
Jančo, Tomáš ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes main principles of communication on CAN bus, design and implementation of CAN bus controller. The controller is implemented in VHDL for school development platform FITkit. This work also describes design of CAN physical layer circuits for connecting FITKit to CAN bus.
Digital microphone signal processing
Vykydal, Martin ; Macho, Tomáš (referee) ; Havránek, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this work is to implement digital filters into programmable gate array. The work also includes a description of the MEMS technology, including comparisons with the technology of MEMS microphones from various manufacturers. Another part is devoted to the Sigma-delta modulation. The main section is the design and implementation of digital CIC and FIR filters for signal processing of digital microphone, including simulation and verification of properties of the proposed filter in Matlab.
Digital Oscilloscope on FITkit Platform
Veškrna, Ondřej ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a device that enables to monitor the behavior of the measured signal on the computer screen, using the principle of the digital oscilloscope. The control element of the device is the field programmable gate array (FPGA) on FITkit platform.  The FPGA configuration controls the input signal sampling and sends the received samples through the USB interface to the PC. The graphical application implemented in the computer tries to restore the signal and then displays it on the screen.
Digital signal processing using field programmable gate arrays
Vykydal, Jan ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kolka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design, implementation and testing of an equipment that performs spectral analysis of a gamma radiation, based on the evaluation of pulses from a scintillation detector. The pulzes are pre-amplified and digitized, and their further processing takes place numerically in an FPGA, which allows a simple modification of the function of the developed device. After an introduction to the issue of gamma radiation spectroscopy with a focus on its detection, the thesis is devoted to the development of a multichannel analyzer hardware, whose individual parts are further described later. Next, the development of a digital signal processing system in the FPGA is described. Followed by an analysis of a microcontroller firmware, and a text protocol for the controlling of the device. Finally, the results of the work are discussed, with a focus on the test measurement of gamma radiation.
Network traffic analysis on FPGA network card
Crháková, Marie ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Smékal, David (advisor)
Bachelor thesis contains description of ISO/OSI and TCP/IP, then is focused on packet headers of the protocols IP, TCP and UDP. After that is analysed the FPGA from the company Xilinx with network interface card from Netcope Technologies and their functions defined by Firmware Developer´s Manual. Finally the studied informations was used for create the program for counting packets, that was simulated and synthesized for field programmable gate array through Vivado.
Embedded control system Compact RIO in vibration measurement
Pšenčík, Petr ; Havránek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Klusáček, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis shows the way how to measure vibrations by field of programmable gate arrays in Compact RIO, using the measurement application created in LabVIEW. Text describes possibilities of vibration measurement and devices appropriate to work with. Then the field of programmable gate arrays is introduced and the Compact RIO as well. The following is a description of LabVIEW software and its benefits. The next chapter is presentation of created application showed in two phases: the main program for projection of measured values and the code implemented into the field of programmable gate arrays. In the last part of the thesis the measurement application is confronted to a commercial measurement system for vibration analysis and consequently the evaluated result is shown.
Synchronization of Graphic Application Running on Two FITkits Simultaneously
Kaplan, Tomáš ; Tobola, Jiří (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes development application on platform FITkit. Development on mentioned platform amounts making configuration for programmable gate field (FPGA) by company Xilinx and program making for micro-controller by company Texas Instruments. Application have as one's task demonstrate synchronization of graphic application running on two FITkits simultaneously. Inter-device communication proceeds over serial line.
System for Programming Minerva Platform
Dohnal, Michal ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Bidlo, Michal (advisor)
Theoretical part of this thesis studies several concepts and interfaces being used for programming microcontrollers (MCUs) and reconfiguration of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) with closer look at those, which are available for MCU Kinetis K60 and FPGA Spartan-6 in circuitry given by the architecture of educational kit Minerva. This knowledge is employed in practical section which describes deployment of the supporting firmware belonging to group of firmwares so-called bootloaders. Finally the application QDevKit3 is introduced, that is based on this firmware, representing effective and fast way for easy programming of FLASH memory on Kinetis MCU using USB interface.
