ZEMANOVÁ, Kristina
The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and behavior disorders. The aim of the work is to find out whether families with children with autism spectrum disorder use some of the AAC methods and whether, in their opinion, it is possible to prevent problematic behavior using an alternative communication system. The aim of the work is also to find out whether the use of AAC methods does not hinder the development of speech and, on the contrary, whether speech production can improve. The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of communication with clients who do not communicate verbally and at the same time do not use any of the AAC methods. The theoretical part, based on the study of academic literature, explains the basic term of autism, its characteristic signs and briefly characterizes the individual disorders of the autistic spectrum. It also deals with the definition of behavior disorders, communication and AAC methods that can be used when working with clients. The aim of the practical part is to analyze the data obtained by observation and evaluation of written questionnaires. The observation and questionnaire survey was carried out at the Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Opařany as part of respite care led by APLA South Bohemia. Problematic nurses´behaviour in care for patients in the sanatorium with long-term sick people
TAUCHENOVÁ, Jana
The theoretical part of bachelor´s work is devided into five separate chapters. Sanatoriums with long-term sick people are described in the first chapter, the attention is paid to offered care, its quality and to the type of patients as well who are hospitalized here. The second part deals with an explanation of a term general nurse, it analyses her personality, role, workload and relation with patients. The third chapter defines a term patient, it focuses on patient´s role and also position in the sanatorium with long-term sick people. The fourth chapter deals with nurses´ behaviour itself, that is defined as productive and nonproductive behaviour including professional nurses´ behaviour which is bases on the Ethical codex. The fifth chapter is devoted to communication in nursing because communication belongs to the basic nurses´ skills and it pervades through the whole care. The communication is devided into verbal and nonverbal. Further there is described the interpersonal communication. Chapters devoted to communication with a patient and relatives finish the theoretical part. To map out nurses´ behaviour in the point of view of patients hospitalized in the sanatorium with long-term sick people and relied on the care of nursing staff is the first aim in my bachelor´s work. The second aim is to map out nurses´ behaviour in the point of view of relatives and close friends of patients who are hospitalized in the sanatorium with long-term sick people. The method of qualitative research, that was realized by dialogues, was chosen for the research. The necessary details were gained through a dialogue with patients in the sanatorium with long-term sick people and with their relatives and friends. Through the questions it was found out which nurses´ behaviour the patients consider to be problematic and how the nurses´ behaviour in the sanatorium with long-term sick people impresses the patients in general. The connection between patient´s age and caring nurses´ behaviour was studied as well. The dialogues with relatives concentrated on the fact which nurses´ behaviour relatives consider to be problematic. The interviews were held in a sanatorium with long-term sick people in the Pilsen region. There is not mentioned the exact name of the institution with respect to preserve the interviewed anonymity. The dialogues were written on the paper because the wish of questioned people not to use any recording appliance was respected. The copies of them are on CD and they are a part of bachelor´s work. The research was completed with watching nurses´ approaches to patients in the sanatorium with long-term sick people in caring. The difference of ideas of patients and relatives about nurses´ behaviour that is considered to be problematic follows from analysis of obtained information. The patients and relatives identically classified the shortage of respect of patients´ intimacy and privacy in caring, especially during evacuation, to be problematic. Noisiness, firmness and persistence of not only nurses but also of ancillary staff were classified as another problematic thing in caring behaviour. It was also refered to improper nurses´ behaviour to patients on night duties. The lack of empathy in offered care, not respecting of patients´ laws and not keeping nurses´ ethical codex and the ethical codex of workers in not medical professions as well are the common thing of these results. All these results were confirmed by watching nurses during their care for patients. The watching also confirmed the connection between patient´s age and nurses´ behaviour during offered care. My bachelor´s work offered a view of problems of nurses´ behaviour to patients in the sanatorium with long-term sick people. The found facts will be treated as the base for internal seminar of given sanatorium that will be held in operating meetings of nursing staff.
