Kateřina Svěcená, Ph.D Title: Evaluation of Brain Injured Patients Using the Modified Jacobs Prevocational Skills Assessment This thesis is focused on evaluation of patients after a brain injury for the purpose of their employment. Its theoretical part summarizes a variety of assessments used worldwide and special attention is paid to Prevocational Skills Assessment by Karen Jacobs. This assessment is unique for its overall view of the patients, no only their physical, mental, or cognitive abilities. Because of its unique attributes, the assessment by Karen Jacobs was customized to patients after a brain injury and the customized version is attached to this thesis in the form of a therapist manual. Furthermore, the assessment was modified to fit the needs of the modern employers and contemporary equipment. It was evaluated on sixteen individuals (eight after a brain injury and eight with no functional impairment). The results are presented and discussed in the practical part of this thesis.
