Limity supervize u pracovníků v sociálních službách
MARTÍNKOVÁ, Nikola
The aim of the diploma thesis was: "To identify what limits perceive supervisors at group supervision meetings of social workers in social services." The main research question was: "What are the limits of supervision of social workers from the perspective of supervisors?" A qualitative research strategy, a method of questioning and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen. To achieve the goal, the main research question was divided into areas: identification (6 partial research questions), formal requirements of supervision (2 partial research questions), supervision (4 partial research questions) and benefits of supervision limits (2 partial research questions). The research group consisted of supervisors associated under the Czech Institute for Supervision (ČIS). Taking into account the set strategy, 6 interviews (snowball method) were conducted, which already showed that the sample had been saturated. In order to be involved, the involved informants were required to provide supervisory services in the field of social work and to have at least one year of experience. The interviews were recorded on a dictaphone, from which a verbatim transcript was made. I subsequently coded the transcripts transcribed in this way (processed by the cluster method). Within the first area, i.e., identification, there were identified these clusters: the humanities direction of education, supervision training, psychotherapeutic training and preparation for limits. Within the second area, i.e., the formal requirements of supervision, the following clusters can be specified: contracting, formal limits, content limits, supervisor under supervision. In the area of supervision, which was identified as the third area, I present the following identified clusters: self-reflection, naming limits and ethical aspects. The last, fourth area, i.e., the benefits of supervision, brought the following clusters: personal development, re-contracting, emotional intelligence. The results of the thesis can be used in the training of supervisors, or for the development of already qualified supervisors in practice.
Burnout Syndrome among Social Workers Working with Handicapped People
ŠVÁBKOVÁ, Lucie
In my bachelor work I focus on the burnout syndrome among medics who work with disabled people. The aim of my work is to find out the amount of medics affected by this syndrome. I concentrate on this amount and try to answer whether the burnout syndrome affected more medics or people who work in the social care. My work is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I give basic introduction to the problematic of the burnout syndrome, its causes, history and stages, last but not least I write about prevention. In short, I define the difference between social workers medics, and workers in the social care. The definition of disabled people is also involved in the theoretical part. The practical part is found on the half-constructed interviews with workers in social field both medics and social workers. The Burnout Measure is used to get statistics. To know the amount of affected people with burnout syndrome is important for their future work and life. My work is useful for these social workers and even it gives them the awareness of this syndrome, and thanks to this the prevention of it is much easier.

The influence of the management style to the social servis workers
BINDEROVÁ, Gabriela
This bachelor thesis deals with styles of management of the leading workers who represent the so called middle management level in the field of the social-service facilities. The main aim of this thesis is to find out the opinion of the chosen leading workers on pros and cons related to workers in the social service in relation to management styles. The introduction concerns itself with general definitions of terms in the field of social service. In addition, the part involving a characterization of a service so called Senior Home (meaning in fact a place where the actual research took place as mentioned below) is described in particular. The following part concentrates on the organization structure and its individual types. This part also involves a subchapter focusing on management in general; subsequently followed by the definition of specifics of management in the social service along with definitions of representatives within the middle management level in the social facilities and a common worker itself. The subchapter dealing with management and leadership concerns itself in details with individual management styles, possibilities of their application, advantages and risks of their using. Subsequently, the styles and essence of leadership in relation to power are emphasized as well. In the following part I focused mainly on motivation, communication, control and evaluation of employees related to influence of workers during the working process. Furthermore, I also put stress on the question of motivation and stimulation of workers in the social service as one of the most vital elements of leadership. In addition, this part also includes a description of a basic theory of motivation and stimulants with its effects. The last subchapter of the theoretical part deals with the negative aspects of working in the social service such as the burnout syndrome, the helper syndrome and fluctuation of employees. These negative specifics are generally defined. Moreover, the possibilities of prevention and assumptions of origin of such threats as mentioned above are clarified as well. The empirical part of this paper is concerned with processing of my research which took place in five senior homes in České Budějovice and nearby. Having obtained the information, I chose a strategy of a quality research, method of interviewing and a technique of a semi-constructed interview. The information obtained via the semi-reconstructed interview were used to find out what each of chosen respondents considers as cons and pros regarding a certain style of management related to workers in the social service. As a basis of a positive influence in the management style considered by most of the respondents is the possibility of adapting the management style for the working group, supposing a familiarity with the working group as a whole, knowing its character and skills and abilities of individual workers. As pros in the sphere of management style, workers mentioned especially their participation in the decision making process. Moreover they also found positive the continuous evaluation made every day, control and straight oral communication that represents a possibility of a quick solution of a certain problem and in addition it also significantly helps to motivate employees. In the field of motivation and stimulation it is encouragement (meaning a positive evaluation and certain forms of praising) that respondents deem as one the most important aspects of the social service considering a positive influence on social workers. As well as encouragement, it is also raising a friendly spirit within a working group which is regarded as one the most important, such a fact is in accordance with preventions regarding the burnout syndrome and fluctuation. The results of my bachelor thesis might serve as an incentive for improving cooperation between the middle and the top management levels.
Awareness of Canistherapy in Jindřichův Hradec
FRAŇKOVÁ, Zuzana
The bachelor thesis was written in order to survey the level of canistherapy awareness in Jindřichův Hradec. Canistherapy is based on interactions between a human and a dog. That is the reason why the author briefly touched the relationship history as well. Then she continues with the history of zootherapy and specifies terms used in the field of zootherapy. Next chapters clarify the zootherapy practising, i.e. what animals are used for this method, what techniques are applied and what ways is possible to exploit while practising the zootherapy. The chapter analyzing the organizations covering the zootherapy is important as well. In following chapter the author tracks the zootherapy in legislation wraps up important laws related to the work with animals. Next part of the bachelor thesis is dedicated to the canistherapy. It explains the term evolution, introduces the history of canistherapy and its development in the Czech Republic. She focuses here on the conditions of canistherapy both from the dog?s side as well as from the therapist, the facility and the client?s point of view. The author opens practical part of the bachelor thesis with its goal, describes methods and techniques of research. To realize the bachelor thesis research the author has chosen quantitative research and questioning. The outcome is elaborated in form of descriptive statistics and results of questionnaire inquiry is amended with diagrams for clarity. The research goal was to realize the extent of the canistherapy awareness amongst secondary schoolteachers in Jindřichův Hradec and employees (social workers and social services workers) of social services facilities and institutions in Jindřichův Hradec. Two hypothesis were established for the survey purposes. Hypothesis 1: Level of the canistherapy awareness is higher in case social services facilities workers to compare with secondary schoolteachers in Jindřichův Hradec. Hypothesis 2: Respondents with a dog in their possession are better informed than those without. To prove or disprove them, the hypothesis were tested by statistical significance test (T-test) and the result was composed of outcoming levels of significance. For the purposes of T-test zero hypothesis were established. H0 (1): Level of the canistherapy awareness is the same in case of social services facilities workers as well as in case of secondary schoolteachers in Jindřichův Hradec. H0 (2): Level of the canistherapy awareness is the same in case of respondents with own dog as well as those without. To each of thesis related question were prescribed points and each respondent has reached average score. This average score could prove or disprove T-test. Total amount of the questionnaire inquiry respondents was 100. 60 of them were secondary schoolteachers and 40 social services facilities workers. Results of the survey revealed that majority of respondents already had met the auxiliary method, though just at theoretical level, in their life. That is the reason for right answers of respondents to the key question, according the author, what the canistherapy was. Questionnaire included more the canistherapy related questions and as the results revealed, respondents are informed on the auxiliary method. Statistic calculation proved hypothesis, i.e. the social services facilities workers are better informed on the canistherapy than secondary schoolteachers and the respondents owning their own dog, or planning to have, are better informed as well than those without dog. It is necessary to point out that the difference between those groups of respondents is not substantial and majority of respondents provided right answers to the questionnaire questions. The author would recommend the social services facilities where the therapy is not applied to have possibility to get the information on the therapy and to assess possibility to include the canistherapy into their services offer.
The further training of the staff in facilities for the elderly
LOUKOTOVÁ, Eva
In my thesis I deal with the further education of employees in the retirement institutions. I determine whether and how are employees in retirement institutions being educated in Prague, what does education mean and how it is important to them. I examine the motivation for further education and the use of possible bids. The theoretical part deals with staffing in retirement institutions and the current state of lifelong education and its division. The main theme was further education and its place in accredited educational institutions. The practical part is based on the evaluation questionnaire. Questionnaires were compiled on the specified hypotheses. Questionnaires were distributed in 5 retirement homes in Prague. Survey was attended by 84 employees and five employers. The aim of this work was to find further education in the retirement institutions over a period of two years and compare it with the options (bids) of educational institutions. To find it out was chosen quantitative research. In conclusion I put out the greatest challenges of further education, which are bad legislative basis and a huge financial drain, which means poor support from the state.
The change in scope of burning-out syndrom prevention in the legislation chanages.
MEDLÍNOVÁ, Eva
Paper covers educational training of social services workers who are supposed to have achieved the prescribed qualifications in compliance with the above-mentioned act, or who are supposed to achieve the respective qualifications by means of the so-called qualifications course for workres engaged in social services. Assisting professions are characterized , in particular, by the fact that persons engaged in them are exposed to a more intense contact with people than other professions are. Performance of such professions is associated with great commitment and responsibility. Therefore, workers engaged in social services are exposed to risk of burnout syndrome development to a higher extent than people working in other professions. This syndrome is experienced most frequently as a feeling of mental, physical and emotional exhaustion and not only does it result in deterioration of the quality of services provided, it has very adverse consequences for a social services worker affected by burnout syndrome as well. The work resulted in finding that no improvement of the Burnout Syndrome Manifestation Inventory score was found and that no influence on attitudes to burnout syndrome on the part of most workers engaged in social services after completion of the qualification course was observable. The workers themselves feel that there is no link between the qualification course and the quality of services provided by them.
