Turkey's Influence in Kosovo and Albania since 2006

Kosovo and Albania have developed relations with Turkey for many centuries, due to a shared history. These relations took another dimension in the 21st century with the entrance of President Erdogan into the political scene of Turkey. Personal relations were developing between the leader of Turkey with leaders in Kosovo and Albania. Moreover, in the field of economy, they have reached many agreements that impact the markets of Turkey, Albania and Kosovo. The shared past concluded to major similarities in culture between the countries. Due to Muslim societies, Turkey has also been utilizing religion as a tool to project soft power in Albania and Kosovo. In this study we take a closer look at Turkish influence in Albania and Kosovo in the political, economic, and cultural spheres. The study was conducted on a mixed methodology where ten semi-structured interviews with experts, professors and politicians were developed (five per each country) and a survey to include citizens' perceptions on the topic (867 persons responded to the survey, around 51% of respondents from Kosovo and 49% from Albania). Political and geographical factors causing the rise and spread of Islamic state

This bachelors thesis focuses on establishment of the Islamic State, which led to the outbreak of armed conflict, humanitarian catastrophe and widespread population migrations. As the threat of destabilization of the entire Middle East, attracted the attention of many disciplines, including political geography. The aim of the work is the literature review and assess the geopolitical map sources, religious and social causes of the Islamic state and attempt to justify its geographic spreading based on these factors. The work is focused mainly on assessing the impact of religious, ethnic and socio-economic structure of Iraq and Syria and the importance of regional differentiation of these factors for the emergence and spread of Islamic State.
Czechoslovak-British Relations in 1953-1957

The PhDr. thesis deals with the Czechoslovak-British relations in 1953-1957. The thesis is divided into the three spheres, which are analysing the development in the aforementioned period. Each sphere has own chapter. These chapters are political and diplomatic one, economic one and last but not least cultural one. The political chapter starts with part about the basic political framework of international relations in the aforementioned period, the next part deals with brief summary of post-war development of mutual political relations. The next main part of chapter offers apart from the research of mutual relations quality in the aforementioned period also the influence of German question and Suez Crisis in Czechoslovak-British relations. The political chapter concludes with the evaluation part of Czechoslovak-British political relations quality. The economic chapter is opened with the brief introduction of post-war development of mutual economic relations. The next main part of chapter is dedicated to analysis of own mutual relations in the aforementioned period and also to the sphere of nuclear power for civilian use in Czechoslovak-British relations. Cartoons political commentary: Freedom of speech and accusations of defamation

This thesis deals with the genre of political cartoons, which is a relatively understudied genre today. The thesis tries to review the past and also the present position of the genre under question, to describe its functions and possibilities; however, it namely focuses on the potential collisions between freedom of speech and other freedoms, rights or interests that might come up in the cartoonists' work. This thesis shows the way these collisions influence the position of the whole genre and analyses the sources and reasons for the attempts to limit cartoonists in their expression. Two different areas are examined here - continental European and American - as areas with different legal tradition and history, which is a fact that manifests itself in different approach to the concepts of freedom of speech. Through analysis of three different cartoon controversies from the past that came up in these areas, this thesis reaches the conclusion, that one of the greatest challenges the cartooning craft is facing today is the phenomenon of political correctness, mainly in the American territory, which has a chilling effect on the genre of cartoons.
