Evaluative prefixes archi-, super-, hyper-, extra- in present-day French

This work is concerned with using of evaluative prefixes of types archi-, extra-, hyper- and super- in french. The theoretical part concentrates on connecting of these prefixes with different types of words, like nouns, adjectives, adverbs and verbs. We are concerned above all with adjectives, where these prefixes are used when forming an absolute superlative. Further ways of forming an absolute superlative are specified here for comparison with the use of these prefixes. Furthermore, this work examines the use of these lexemes as single standing words. The practical part targets concrete examples of prefix connections archi-, extra-, hyper-, super- with adjectives used by native speakers. The target is to investigate according to which rule these prefixes are connected with adjectives, which one is the most and the least used and if there is any diference in using these prefixes among men and women. Weak declension of masculine nouns in contemporary German

Presented bachelor thesis deals with the contemporary development trends in a weak declension of masculine nouns, which extend in two directions. There is transition from weak declension to strong declension on one side and mixed declension nouns ending in -or are inflected weakly on the other side. Marginally attention is paid to nouns, which have two forms in the singular nominative, e.g. der Friede, der Frieden, where examines which form is productive in the contemporary language. The first, theoretical part of this thesis deals with definition of weak declension and focuses to its conception in selected grammars and professional articles. In the second, practical part is performed corpus analysis using W Corpus of the Institute for German Language in Mannheim, which aims to demonstrate that the previously non-codified forms are used even in standard instances. Irregularities in the Plural Formation

This bachelor thesis deals with number in the English language, primarily, the irregularity of plural formation and the means of its expression. This work is merely theoretical. According to available grammars of the Czech and foreign authors, the work analyzes the basic characteristics about the noun and summary information is provided about plural formation. The thesis reiterates a number of specific examples of nouns. It characterizes the issue of the number and describes the expression of the productive and nonproductive plural. The last part of the work classifies foreign plural nouns.
The Analysis of English Countability

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the category of English countability and means of its expression. It is divided into two main parts, namely the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part puts a detailed interpretation on the issue of English countability, observes the differences between Czech and English countability of nouns and furthermore, it also contains the basic information about the noun as a part of speech. The practical part is focused on one of the means of individualization of uncountable nouns, specifically on individualization via partitives as it is called and their occurrence in periodicals currently coming out in the territory of Great Britain.
