Possibilities of using of Vitis vinifera as a source of raw materials for cosmetic production
Hanáková, Pavlína ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with preparation of extraction from various parts of grapevine and their consequent use in the manufacture of cosmetics. The theoretical part is focused on general characteristics of grapevine, its taxonomic classification, occurrence and cultivation. Subsequently, the chemical composition of grapevine parts and their uses in cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries is described. The final part is devoted to particular types of extractions and methods of determinativ of total phenolic substances. The experimental part deals with the optimization of the prepared extract in order to obtain the extract with the highest amount of total phenolic substances with respect to production costs. Factors such as selection of the appropriate solvent and extraction time are examined. 50% ethanol at the room temperature was found to be an optimal solvent. Finally, the physical and chemical properties, such as density, pH and refractive index were determined for the purpose of producing a material safety data sheet. The extract was processed into cosmetic products.

The use of Natural Materials in Primary School Education
BARTOŠOVÁ, Martina
The theme of this diploma thesis is Natural materials in the subject of Craft at primary school (at the first level of the elementary village school). The aims and tasks of the diploma thesis are defined in the introduction. The theoretical part is devoted to concepts, goals and output competences in technical and environmental education at the first level. It deals with the description of well-known and lesser-known nature materials and the characteristics of various natural techniques when working with natural materials. The description of the elementary school in the village of Malonty is the integral part of the theoretical text. In the practical part, ten didactic themes for working with natural materials are proposed. Some of them were realized in practice and their effectiveness was verified through questionnaires for children.
Antioxidant activity of some cultivars of Sambucus nigra L. fruits.
Nehybová, Monika ; Spilková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Tůmová, Lenka (referee)
8. Abstract The fruit of the European elder, Sambucus nigra L., is used in therapy as a drug Sambuci fructus for its diaphoretic, diuretic and laxative effects. Cultivars of European elder are being studied for the use in the food industry and pharmacy. The fruit contains especially large amount of anthocyanins and flavonoids that are known for their antioxidant activity. The aim of this work is to measure the antioxidant activity of the drug Sambuci fructus and of the fruit of the European elder cultivars Samdal, Mammut, Sambo, Sambu, Sampo, Bohatka, Haschberg, Weihenstephan, Allesö, and Samyl. An extract containing anthocyanins was obtained from fruit by a process based on extraction of frozen material with acidified water at high temperature, followed by separation with polymer non-ionogenic polystyrene-divinylbenzene sorbent. The content of anthocyanins in the extracts was determined spectrophotometrically using a modified pH-differential method. The absorbance was measured along the range of 350 - 600 nm. The content of the anthocyanins was quantified in units of mg of cyanidin 3-glucoside in 1 ml of extract. The content ranged from 0.33 - 2.76 mg cyanidin 3-glucoside/ml of extract. The highest content was in the extract from the fruit of the cultivar Samdal and the lowest was of the cultivar Mammut....

Praktické aspekty péče o ovocné dřeviny ve městě na příkladu statutárního města Brna
Barašová, Jana
This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of fruit trees located in cities, on the example of the Brno city. The appropriate management of trees in cities is an actual topic as documented by elaboration of Standards of Management on Nature and Landscape by the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic and Mendel University in Brno. The goal of this thesis is to find out all the specific issues of management of fruit trees in these conditions. The history and current situation was described using relevant literature as well as personal communication with all of the authorities concerned with public accessible locations. It was found that prunning is done mainly by crown reduction, apple and pear fruits are harvested and composted, nuts and plums are collected by local people. In some cases trees are continuously damaged by local people to ensure their removal. Ownership of public areas is often very complicated and in some cases the owner is not known. All of these issues contribute to limited usage of fruit trees in public locations in Brno. Costs associated with the of management of fruit trees and non-fruit trees was compared by the price list produced by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic in two variations - actual and ideal. Interestingly, the cost associated with the currently used type of management (actual) are higher than those associated with the ideal management according to the Standards.

Hodnocení vybraných pomologických a popisných znaků hybridů a odrůd meruněk
Zourková, Štěpánka
The diploma thesis is focused on the observation and subsequent evaluation of selected phenological and pomological traits in the gene pool of apricots (Prunus armeniaca L.). A total of 35 genotypes were evaluated during 2018 on the land of the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice, Mendel University in Brno. It provides an overview of their history and origin, botanical description and also information about cultivation methods, content substances or also about the situation of cultivation and breeding of apricots in the Czech Republic and in the world. It also contains information about the most common diseases and pests that affect apricot trees. In the practical part there are evaluated individual characters of apricot varieties according to the Classifier for Armeniaca P. MILL. Concept of Increase and Accessio under Roman Law and Their Transformations
Novák, Marek ; Bělovský, Petr (referee)
125 Abstract, keywords Concept of Increase and Accessio under Roman Law and Their Transformations The thesis emphasizes the importance of original modes of acquiring ownership. Its aim is to describe the Roman law roots of the original mode of acquiring ownership which is described as increase in the Civil Code in effect. It turns out that it is not one uniform institute at all, as it might seem, because it comprises four modes of acquiring ownership identified by the Roman law theory - not only accession as the Roman law concept, but also specificatio, commixtio, confusion and acquiring fruits. The introductory chapter focuses on the structure of the Civil Code, which is compared with its predecessors and with foreign codes. Some of them emphasize the peculiarity of acquiring fruits, while others do not even introduce the concept of increase in a broader sense. In four central chapters, norms regulating the acquisition of ownership are presented, both in Roman law and in modern civil codes in the territory of the contemporary Czech Republic. The civil code proposals from the first half of the 20th century are also considered, although they have never taken effect, they illustrate the development of legal science. The intention of the author was present legal regulations originating from the Roman law...
