Part-time jobs in the Czech Republic and in the Federal Republic of Germany Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of part-time jobs in the Czech Republic and in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is a labour law institute which helps to coordinate the personal life and work life of employees. It is also known as the concept of work-life balance. The other institutions following the same purpose are e.g., home-office or flexible working hours. Although it's demand in the countries of the EU, including the Czech Republic, is rising, it's still not widely used in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis takes a closer look at the legislature of part-time jobs in both countries and then compares these legal regulations. Purpose of this thesis was to verify or refuse the hypothesis, whether the Czech legislature is as conservative and insufficient as it is portrayed in the media and by the common public. Focus of this thesis was also to evaluate the German legal regulation and assess whether any labour law institutes regulated in German legal regulations are a suitable inspiration for the Czech legislator. Corporate social responsibility in relation to women returning to work after parental leave

This bachelor work is focused on women returning to work after parental leave, from the view of the phenomenon of corporate social responsibility (CSR). The aim of the thesis is to find out, what position the employer holds in supporting women, who try to return to their work, within the phenomenon of CSR. Specifically, the work focuses on the SKODA AUTO Company, on how the company is or isn't socially responsible. The research part of this work is done as a case study of this company; specifically it is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods of research. The first part of it was questionnaire for a larger number of women employees, which did return in the past 3 years to this company or will return during this year. After evaluating quantitative data, the qualitative research was made. Seven interviews were done with the respondents during the qualitative research; one of them was a recruiter of this company. She herself should make it easier for mothers to return and help them to find a suitable job. The main result was that even though the employees are interested in alternative types of jobs (job sharing, work from home, part-time job, …) this company provides only a small number of these positions. This thesis addresses the problematic of part-time jobs in condition of Czech Republic. Goal of this thesis was to analyze part-time jobs as the flexibility tool of labor market on one side and as a tool for reconciliation between family life and work life on the other side. In this thesis are described individual possibilities of part-time jobs utilization in the terms of labor law of Czech Republic. Three companies, which are working in different branches, are compared based on questionnaire survey. Results of questionnaire survey found out, that the divergence and a nature of a working position differs the analyzed companies in possibilities of applying part-time jobs on individual working positions. Theoretical manual was made for utilization part-time jobs to reconciliation and harmonization between work life and family life in Czech Republic.
Economic and accounting aspects of the part-time contracts in comparing Czech and Slovak Republic

The thesis discusses the advantages (disadvantages) of the employing part-time workers in the Czech and Slovak Republic. In each country, the part-time contracts are divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part of thesis the part-time contracts are described in terms of legislation. The practical part applies the theoretical part on illustrative examples. Conclusion includes evaluation of results and suggestions for possible improvements.
One hundred years of history of education at secondary industrial school in Volyně in period 1914-2014

This diploma thesis deals with development of industrial school in Volyně in the last one hundred years (1914-2014). Due to such long and rich history of this industrial school, being the second oldest functioning school of this kind, we covered the last one hundred years. Division into chapters follows the changes of school name where such change reflects certain social situation. In this work you can find development of school, its capacity problems which could be solved by looking for and subsequent finding a suitable place for construction and following building of school grounds, problems with accommodation and boarding of students. We keep track of changes related to changes of political situation, changes of study length, fields of study, students´ activities etc. Certain space is related to presentation of school to public (competitions, exhibitions, seminars). In this work you can also find some interesting facts which characterize given period. Sources for this thesis were taken from the archive materials of State district archive in Strakonice, annuals and annual reports of school and school chronicles. This work should contribute to covering history of education system in Volyně.
Analysis of the application of flexible forms of work in the Czech Republic and selected countries of European Union

This bachelor thesis deals with a phenomenon of flexible forms of the work in the Czech Republic and chosen countries of the European Union. The study is divided into three parts. In the first part we can find theoretical determination of flexibility on the labour market. In the second part there is an analysis of flexible works in the Czech Republic, Netherlands and Slovenia performed. The last part is the final, with a summary of observed facts and with international comparison of the situation on the labour market.
