Evaluation of dynamic stability of the lower limb in horse riders using the Y-balance test
Kamírová, Barbora ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: Evaluation of dynamic stability of the lower limb in horse riders using the Y- balance test Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to map the level of lower limbs stability in show jumping and eventing horse riders by using the Y-balance test and to describe whether common signs of variations in range of motion of lower limb joints will be present. At the same time supplement the thesis with a short summary of movement problems and the use of physiotherapy in horse riders using a short questionnaire. By writing this thesis I would like to raise the awareness of riders about the effect of asymmetries and imbalances on the musculoskeletal system of both the rider and the horse, and about the possible achievement of better harmony between the rider and the horse when trying to correct these changes with the help of physiotherapy or other additional movement activities. Methods: The key part of the research section of the thesis is an examination using the Y-balance test evaluatimg the dynamic stability of the lower limb and also the examination of range of motion of the lower limb joints using a goniometer. At the same time, a questionnaire is part of the work, which has the task of providing a brief overview of the issue of physiotherapy in horse riding. Testing is performed on 25 probands, 14...
The relationship of back pain in show jumping and dressage riders depending on the degree of stability
Blechová, Barbora ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: The relationship of back pain in show jumping and dressage riders depending on the degree of stability Objectives: The aim of this work is to determine the relationship between back pain in show jumping and dressage riders depending on the degree of stability. With the help of computer posturography Neurocom Smart Equitest System. Methods: In my thesis, I used the NeuroCom Smart EquiTest computerized posturograph to record and measure dynamic postural stability. This machine is mainly used to examine functional disorders in the sensory, vestibular and neuromuscular apparatus. The research sample consisted of 20. 10 jumping and 10 dressage riders. They were selected on the basis of a questionnaire sent to riders ranked 100th in the Czech rankings in their discipline in 2022. If they met the criteria, they were included in the project. Probands were aged 18-35 years, practicing horse riding every day for at least the last 10 years. The practical measurement took place in November 2023 in the Kinesiology Laboratory of the Department of Physiotherapy at FTVS UK. Each proband underwent seven consecutive tests. And only in the following order - Test of organization Sensors, Test of motor control, Test of adaptation, One-sided stance, Limits of stability, Rhythmic shift of weight, Test of squat...
Stability in Showjumping and Dressage Riders
Vaňková, Kateřina ; Kučerová, Klára (advisor) ; Rampová, Michaela (referee)
Horse-riding has a major influence on the posture of the whole body of the rider. Rider has to constantly compensate the movement of horse's body and has to maintain a proper seat. The compensation is very demanding in harder tasks (showjumping, trotting) and is provided mainly by the trunk area of rider's body. In addition, if the saddle doesn't fit the rider, it leads to improper seat and the compensation becomes even harder. In long term, that could affect different segments of the rider's body and his overall stability. The practical part of this thesis consists of one-time examination of two groups. The first group contained nine showjumping and dressage riders who engage in horse-riding regularly over many years and do not do any other sport or compensatory exercises. The second group was control group and consisted ten healthy controls. Both groups contained 19-24 years old volunteers of the same gender. The main goal was to compare the two groups and to find out whereas the inclusion of the compensatory excercises would be desirable for riders. The examination was executed using a force plate with the software Kistler MARS (Measurement, Analysis & Reporting Software). On the force plate, postural stability of standing and a dynamic test were examined. Intrumental examination was...
Horseriding in the Czech photography
Grohová, Hana ; Géla, František (advisor) ; Silverio, Robert (referee)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is mainly horse riding in Czech photography. The theoretical part focuses on the history of documentary photography and sports photography in the Czech Republic. It maps out the visual coverage of horse riding in the Czech Republic, introduces the most important figures and shows their work and successes. Through the interview with the Czech News Agency photo reporter Roman Vondrouš it describes the shape of current horse- riding photography, the state of sports photography in Czech agencies and examines current topics. The practical part includes a collection of documentary photographs that show the racetrack Chuchle Arena Praha. The pictures look into the equestrian world and are a visual evidence of its evolution. They capture not only the races themselves, but also the whole process of preparation of horse-riders. They were created during trainings away form actual races, race-day preparations and in the moments of win or loss. They show, what is hidden beneath the surface of the equestrian sport and picture the relationship between humans and horses. Moreover, the photos capture functioning of the racetrack in Velká Chuchle that exists for more than a century already and offers different types of horse-racing competitions. You can see steeplechase and show jumping here.

This thesis deals with the Nutrition of sport horses. It is divided in 4 parts. First part is dedicated to digestive system and physiology of horses; next chapter describes the importance of individual macronutrients, vitamins and mineral substances. Third part informs about particular feed. Last chapter is the most comprehensive part expanding the basic knowledge about horses and specifically describes the equine nutrition of young sport horses and sport horses focused on show jumping. Last but not least, this chapter describes required care, feeding technique, balanced nutrition and training plan.
Vyhodnocení vlivu kmene Przedswit na sportovní výkonnost koní v ČR
Pavlištová, Iva
The aim of the diploma work was to evaluate the performance of horses descended from the foundation stock Przedswit in show jumping and dressage competitions in the Czech Republic. The basis for the elaboration of this work was created by me in the monitored group of horses from 2008 to 2012. Database used for the evaluation was created from data belonging to overviews of sports horses as well as the online studbook of Czech warmblood. For statistic utilization we used GLM method. In case of statistical significancy we used multiple comparisons method Scheffe for evaluation of the differences between individual factors. The statistical software UNISTAT version 5.1 was used. In both categories we evaluated the effects of pedigree, year of the sports season, sex, horse breed, level of the competitions and number of starts. In show jumping we proved that effect of pedigree is statistically significant, the method of multiple comparisons showed that offspring by breed stallions Przedswit is most efficient and together with other three groups of horses are more efficient than horses which are offspring by Przedswit stallions and mares by Przedswit. In show jumping we found other three factors as statistically significant. First of them was year of the sports season, where we proved better performance of the horses who started in 2012 than horses who started in 2008. Second of the factors was the effect of age, where any significant different pairs wasn't founded, so we compared the averages and we found that 17 years old were on the top with 4,1188. The last highly significant effect was the level of competitions, where the most efficient were horses which jumped level "T" though they were the least numerous group. In dressage we found only one factor as statistically significant and it was level of competitions. With method of multiple comparisons we found significant differences between individual levels. As the most efficient were found horses which achieved of level "T", they were better than all of the other groups ("Z", "L", "S", "ST"). The least numerous group of "ST" was better than lower level groups ("Z", "L", "S") but worse than group "T". The group "S" was significantly better than groups "Z" and "L" but worse than groups "ST" and "T". The results of groups "Z" and "L" are appear to be the worst, although the largest group.
