Serial communication

Bachelor work is focused on the issue of a serial communication interface RS-232,USB, I2C and SPI, and also discusses the use of the laboratory module for experimental purposes. Laboratory module is designed with respect to the functional elements that will resist daily use of students. This work is detailed principles of serial communication in relation to each interface. The second part is devoted to method the module structure, functions of its individual components and functional solution output connectable to an oscilloscope and other measuring devices.

The effect of epidural analgesia depending on the time of administration and female parity

The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of epidural analgesia as one of the most effective methods of labour pain control. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate whether epidural analgesia is administered more frequently in primiparas or multiparas, and what is the frequency of epidural analgesia administration depending on the time of day at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. The thesis contains theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of physiological labour, description of labour times, labour pain and epidural analgesia, which includes anatomy of the spinal canal, indications, contraindications, drugs and technique of application. The practical part is the research part. It was carried out using analytical data collection from medical records and Medea hospital information system. The retrospective analysis was performed at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University and the General University Hospital in Prague. Some factors affecting milk somatic cell count

The aim of this thesis was to compare somatic cells count (SCC) in milk depending on certain factors (month, milk system, lactation). Besides of SCC, also other parameters of milk quality were monitored. Milk sampling took place for 11 weeks in 2017 and samples were taken from 15 milked cows of the Czech Simmental breed. During the milk sampling were used two different parameters of pulsation. Pulsation adjustment significantly shortened the time of milking from 7,34 minutes in average to 6,19 minutes in average (P<0,001). After pulsation adjustment the SCC decreased from 188,000/ml to 154,000/ml as well, however, differences were not statistically significant. Concerning other factors the SCC was mostly affected by the number of lactation (P<0.01), primiparous cows had significantly lower values of the SCC (45,000/ml) that multiparous cows (237,000/ml).

Representation of women in parliamentary political parties in the Czech Republic and in France since 2017

This thesis focuses on parliamentary political parties in the Czech Republic and in France in the period since the 2017 legislative elections in both countries. It looks at the different attitudes and approaches of political parties towards women's representation. In addition to the historical context of the two countries and each political party, it also presents the long-term factors that influence the representation of women in political parties. Such factors include a country's political culture, the existence of women's party organizations, or the intra-party setting of quotas for women's representation. Institutional arrangements set from outside are also an important factor, with the parity law having impact on French political parties. The following analysis of different political environments attempts to capture these and other factors affecting women's representation and their practical manifestations. First, the party positions in the period under study are analyzed, followed by the candidate lists for the 2017 legislative elections and the results of these elections, i.e. the ratio of male and female occupancy of parliamentary seats and senior positions. Úhlové korelace v rozpadech Higgsova bosonu

The Standard Model predicts existence of one Higgs boson with combined parity CP = +1. In MSSM there exist Higgs boson with CP = −1 in addition. The work develops one method of Higgs boson CP determination on the basis of angular correlations of pions and ρ-mesons born in cascade decay H/A → τ− τ+ → ρ− /π− ντ ρ+ /π+ ¯ντ . The calculations are done in the leading order of perturbation theory. Further, the possibility of signal (Higgs boson decay) and background (Z boson decay) differentiation is studied. The processes in question are simulated using Monte Carlo generators Pythia and Tauola. Simulation outputs are compared with calculated theoretical results. 1

Fertility tables and application of the method in the analysis of regional differentiation of fertility in Spain

The aim of the thesis is to construct period fertility tables according to Human Fertility Database methodology and different kinds of fertility indices, which are possible to derive from fertility table's functions. The method is then used when analysing regional differences in fertility behaviour among Spanish regions in 1981, 1991, 1999 and 2011. The study begins with a general overview of fertility trends in Spain. Then, the data part follows. Next, the methodology is discussed and some table's indices, which Human Fertility Database does not provide, are constructed. Following chapters focus on application of the method to real data. It was found out, that with the help of period fertility tables one can calculate not only the age and parity adjusted total fertility rate and the table mean age at birth, but also various transition probabilities between parity states and as well as other measures. All this could be done due to the possibility of deeper disaggregation of the table population. The main results obtained by applying the method brought several interesting findings. Representation of women in the French parliamentary elections in 2012 and 2017

This bachelor's thesis deals with a comparative analysis of the elections to the French National Assembly in 2012 and 2017 in terms of the representation of women among candidates and among elected deputies. The representation of women in the National Assembly is presented in the historical context of women in the political space from the French Revolution, through the gain of women's suffrage after World War II, to the Parity Act in 2000, which introduces legal quotas for women's representation in political institutions and functions. The thesis deals with factors that affects women's entry into politics and their number, such as the French Fifth Republic's electoral system in elections to the National Assembly or setting quotas for women's representation, as well as indicators that determine the real power and importance of women in politics. The comparison of the legislative elections in 2012, when the Socialist Party won, and the legislative elections in 2017, when the new political group En Marche won the majority, deals mainly with different approches of political parties to the law of parity and gender equality and then also with differences in filling key positions in the National Assembly. Biting midges and their patogens

This thesis deals with biting midges of the genus Culicoides, which are tiny nematoceran insects belonging to the Diptera, and their parasites. Biting midges partake in transmissions of several parasitical organisms of various groups. Most notably, they are the vectors of several pathogenic viruses which might have a serious impact on livestock. However, the thesis deals with detection of parasites belonging to Trypanosomatids and Filarioids related to two independent biting midges collections - from the Czech Republic and from the Central African region. Apart from testing biting midges, there were carried out the tests on the occurrence of the same group of parasites within ruminant hoofed games in the Czech Republic. Our goal was to find out whether the same parasites occur with biting midges and their hosts (hoofed games) and whether biting midges could play a role as vectors. Biting midges are relatively overlooked group of haematophagous insects. Until recently, they had not been paid much attention, which changed with the spread of Bluetongue virus over Europe. This stimulated a widespread monitoring of biting midges in several European countries, including the Czech Republic.
