WORKING POOR IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC Abstract Even though poverty is not the death or life question in developed countries it is necessary to pay attention to it. The topic of poverty, social cohesion and social exclusion plays now an increasing role in the EU agenda; working poor started to be explored in 1990s there. Working poor are people poor despite working. Work should serve as a protection of poverty, it should guarantee better living standard to employed people in comparison to those dependent on social protection. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the issue of working poor, to identify them, to find out the reasons why they are poor and to develop measures to help them not to be poor. This thesis brings a comprehensive view on the working poor in the Czech Republic. The focus is on the poverty rate as well as characteristics of working poor. Methods for measuring this phenomenon have not been fully developed yet, there is still not a consensus on the most suitable methods. Different methods are introduced, compared and critically evaluated in the first - theoretically oriented - part of the thesis. Subjective poverty line in Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of measuring subjective poverty for social work and social policy and points to its connection with the quality of life of individuals and families. The work seeks to clearly show the benefits of direct impacts, vie subjective measurement of the poverty in comparison with the measurement of objective and interdisciplinary context in sociology and social work. Through professional research, it evaluates how social work contributes to solution contemporary social problems. It shows how research on the subjective perception of the poverty can benefit in this regard. This thesis finds out how measuring subjective poverty helps determine the client's needs. The case study shows that the acceptance of an individual way of perceiving a difficult social situation by a client, so contributes to the effectiveness of assistance. The professional contributions included, among other things, point to the impact of poverty on the children's lives and illustrate the new social risks that are constantly evolving. Professional recommendation and further research are the possibilities of improving the methods of social work and their further development. Analysis of Household Income in the Czech Republic - Trends and Risks

The target of this work is to analyzes the financial situation of households in the Czech Republic with the focus on risks of households such poverty or debt trap. In the work I want prove that the poverty is connected with materiál deprivation, low work intensity and social exclusion. The main analysis are constructed on characteristics such as the economic activity of the person standing at the head of the household, age, sex, type of household or form of using flat. The work offers the possibility solving of the unfavourable situation of households.
Analysis of social indicators in region Pardubice during 2006 - 2011

This diploma work analyzes selected social indicators in region Pardubice. The aim of the diploma work is find out how the indicators developed under the influence of economic recession. Period between the years 2006 and 2011 is analyzed. The theoretical part of the diploma work is focused on characterization of selected social indicators, inception of economic recession and its impacts on the Czech republic. The practical part of the diploma work analyzes first demographic and economic situation in region Pardubice and then it analyzes selected social indicators. It compares the progress of the indicators in region Pardubice with the progress of average value of these indicators in the Czech republic. The analysis confirmed that economic recession has presumed social impacts and so it influences selected social indicators.
