Live typeface
Jiříček, Milan ; Špiřík, Jan (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The work describes the theoretical foundations of modern methods of creating new fonts, that is, using information technology, specifically vector programs. It also marginally shows the history of the font, Roman writing, the basic division of its compositions and describes its individual elements. The next part of the project focuses on creating digital fonts and continues with bringing it to live using algorithms and methods that can easily be processed in Matlab programming language. The method of implementation of the bringing the typeface to live is described and presentation of the generated results are then shown in few examples. Attention is also paid to the coordinates system, which is very important to solve geometric transformations, and two-dimensional vector graphics, which are widely used in the design and to render the fonts. Bézier curves and cubic Bézier curves are described in further detail along with vector graphics rasterization. One part of this text describes very important de Casteljau algorithm. The last chapter focuses on implementation in Matlab programming language, the creation of curves, that means single font characters, and the ways of how the algorithm works with transformations. Some sample images showing transformations using different input arguments are displayed in this section as well. There is evaluation of the contribution of this application and the possibilities of further expansion at the end.
The development of graphic expression by primary school children
VILINGEROVÁ, Isabela
Present work deals with the graphomotoric development of children in grammar school age. The theoretical part characterizes this developmental period in terms of developmental psychology. Especially, describing the cognitive essential components for graphic expressions, namely thinking, intelligence, perception, attention, memory, imagination, language skills and creativity. Moreover there is the outline of ontogenetic development of writing and drawing in the ontogenetic phase. The practical part describes the scientific activity in which they are compared to short texts and figure drawings from pupils in the 1st and 5th grade of grammar school. There has been created criteria dealing with the evaluation of fonts and artwork. The basic of these criteria could be observed in changes occurring from 1st to 5th grammar school grade. Graphic expression of individual pupils is analyzed verbally.
Biblical motives in the work of František Hrubín
HANDŠUHOVÁ, Lenka
The thesis attempts to analyse the František Hrubín's poetry in which the parallels with The Scripture or biblical themes could be found. The thesis sorts discovered themes to those that can and to those that cannot be analyzed with the Scripture. The important findings is whether the discovered themes can be essentially marked as biblical or if they are used also with the other meaning by the author. Partical objective is the finding of identical themes in the other authors pieces and comparing them with the themes of František Hrubín. The thesis looks for the connections between the subjects, themes or with the author's writing itself or his contemporaries.

The first part outlines the general characteristics of the items specified in the-art tattoo industry. Then move to the functional use of the field. In the third part of this work we try to approximate current distribution tattoo procedure followed by the individual motifs with categorical classification. The next chapter will proceed to the actual creation of the tattoo in the historical context and development of techniques in these parts of America, which will be part of this text primarily directed. In the penultimate section, we will focus on looking at the modern American scene from the environment groundbreaking 18th century. The final section should outline the psychological approaches to this field, not only from a historical perspective but also from the standpoint of contemporary psychology of modern society. The text is accompanied by inspiring the drawing artists, especially important for the practical part of this work, which takes us to the very essence of why the work was prepared, but also what resources corresponding to the tattoo was used. At the very end of the work to proceed on whether we can talk about the tattoo as a full-fledged artistic direction that should be accepted as a correct direction belonging to the arts.
Traditional Type in the Digital Era
Weinzettelová, Silvia ; Gray, Simon (advisor)
The first part of this paper briefly reviews the history of typography and the ways how the traditional typefaces had been modified in order to ensure high readability and legibility. Semiotics of type, as well as the importance of positive emotional response to UI and UX, are discussed in the second part, highlighting the important patterns in the user’s comprehension and emotional responses. In the third place, the shift towards the “mobile first” approach is emphasized, and the importance of adopting the appropriate methods and techniques which would ensure the optimal representation on information on small screen handheld devices is justified; the problems caused by type scaling and reading patterns, screen resolution, pixel representation, and backlit environment are identified. Furthermore, the optimal characteristics of screen fonts are explained. Last but not least, the present and future of typography on small screens is discussed.

Significance and Design of The Logo
Markvart, Jiří ; Čermák, Radim (advisor) ; Bedřichová, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to the logo as an important element in the presentation of the company, organization, product, and, in some cases, also social and cultural events or people. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part explains the importance of the logo itself and describes its role in visual presentation. The differences between logos are discussed according to logos' purpose and design. Attention is paid both to logos in the commercial sector and of municipalities and state institutions, where visual presentation has made significant progress in recent years. The practical part is devoted to the creation of the logo itself and describes the methodology from the client's assignment of the project to the release of the style guide. It describes all important steps in the creation of a logo and discusses different options and variations that may occur during the process. Catechetical methodology of St. Augustin
ČANDOVÁ, Zdeňka
The thesis tries to answer how the Augustine's manner of searching the truth affected his pastoral ministry and catechesis as well as what methods can modern catechetists find in the Augustine's cathechetical writtings. It is based especially on the dates of Augustine's life and it analyses some of his works. In his catechetical treatises Augustine pointed out the different level of education of hearers and he recomended his readers to bring themselves down to the level of the lowest of their hearers, even as Christ humbled himself. On his opinion it does not matter if there are different opinions about an issue. What is important is to have everybody the same purpose which is the sincere effort to know the God's truth. The main objective of catechesis is leading to faith, hope and love. Augustine pointed out the unity and purity of the Church as the key point for the human salvation.
