USE OF AUTOMATIC COLLECTION OF GROUND CONTROL POINTS FOR ORIENTATION OF ARCHIVAL AERIAL IMAGERY USING EXISTING DATA SETS
Berka, Rostislav ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Dušánek, Petr (referee)
USE OF AUTOMATIC COLLECTION OF GROUND CONTROL POINTS FOR ORIENTATION OF ARCHIVAL AERIAL IMAGERY USING EXISTING DATA SETS Abstract The diploma thesis is focused on the automated searching of ground control points (GCPs) for processing archival aerial images (AAIs) and creating orthomosaics. The study evaluates selected computer vision operators (SIFT, SURF, ORB and image correlation) and various approaches for identifying and subsequently matching identical points between the reference dataset (current orthophoto) and AAIs. Thanks to AAIs georeferences, the searching area in AAI is known for finding the corresponding point to the reference one (from current orthophoto). Unfortunately, the georeferencing of AAIs provided by the Czech Office for Surveying, Mapping, and Cadastre (ČÚZK) was methodologically incorrect (very bad accuracy) and it had to be corrected before automated GCPs searching. The topic was supported by ČÚZK and datasets (current orthophoto, AAIs, ZABAGED vector data) were provided for processing purposes free of charge (beyond the standard student license). Based on operator testing, a fully automated methodology was developed in Python, relying on image correlation. The input includes AAIs, current orthophoto and a road network, with road intersections as reliable and time invariant points....
Metric survey documentation of the part of the main palace of Veveří Castle
Biriukov, Ilia ; Volařík, Tomáš (referee) ; Machotka, Radovan (advisor)
The main aim of the master's thesis is to create documentation for the southern part of the 3rd floor of the palace with a pointed tower in the Veveří Castle complex, based on laser scanning and measurements using the Faro Focus 3D device, and to create a 3D model of the area of interest. This documentation includes floor plans, sections, and elevations of the building's facades, and it is an integral component for the future reconstruction. To achieve this aim, the master's thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the measured object and the measurement methods used. The practical part includes an analysis of the acquired data and detailed descriptions of the data processing steps in various software programs such as SW Groma, Trimble Real Works. It presents methods for creating 2D drawing documentation and 3D wireframe model supplemented with surfaces using Autodesk AutoCAD and Trimble Business Center software. All of these steps are aimed at obtaining high-quality documentation that will serve as a basis for the reconstruction of the building.
Automatic Construction of a Terrain Map by a Drone
Kapsa, Jan ; Bambušek, Daniel (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on how UAV mapping functions with the focus on methods working in real-time. The process of image stitching is thoroughly explained and 2 methods based on it are designed. Together with these methods dataset is built containing different situations. Maps of the terrain are created by these methods, which are then compared and scored.
Map documentation of the historical development of Němšová village
Zajacová, Terézia ; Andělová, Pavla (referee) ; Ruda, Aleš (advisor)
The content of bachelor thesis is the analysis of avalaible sources of Nemsova. Bachelor thesis describes map data and their content, which is suitable for evaluation of historical development of the city. The available maps shows the city´s territory from the period of military mapping to the present day and captures a range of approximately 250 years. They describe cartographic methods of expression and methods of representation of topographic map content. Based on these documents, the city development was subsequently recostructed. The result is the case study evaluating the development of Nemšová and land use development in Nemšová. The final study is supported by available maps bases, tables and graphs.
Evaluation of data captured by UAV
Martináková, Veronika ; Setnický, Viktor (referee) ; Kalvoda, Petr (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with the application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in photogrammetry and mapping. The first part describes the UAV that was used for imaging, legislative restrictions resulting from its operations, planning and realization of the flight. The second part of this thesis is focused on processing results, especially on evaluation the accuracy of the results gained by UAV with and without a GNSS module. The data are evaluated in the 3rd accuracy rating class (ČSN 01 3410). The theoretical principles are explained as well. The main aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the effective use of the GNSS module Emlid Reach and the unmanned aerial vehicle in geodesy.

Processing of images taken from UAV
Ptáček, Ondřej ; Plánka, Ladislav (referee) ; Hanzl, Vlastimil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the processing and evaluation of the pictures taken by unmanned aerial vehicles - UAV. The introductory part is devoted to the definition, use, applications and types of UAV especially for photogrammetric purposes. Also the software equipment is described, including a description and examples of several types of possible outcomes. Further the measurements, computational works and process of elaboration in used software programs are described. Achieved outcomes of elaboration are also presented. In conclusion, the overall evaluation and assessment of the results of measurement is done of set of points.
3D RECONSTRUCTION OF ABANDONED SETTLEMENTS OF THE CENTRAL POVLTAVÍ
Andrštová, Martina ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Jaroš, Jakub (referee)
3D reconstruction of abandoned settlements of the central Povltaví ABSTRACT This work deals with the use of Geoinformatic systems to create the three-dimensional model of an extinct landscape. The main subject of this bachelor work is the three-dimensional reconstruction of extinct municipalities in the central area of the Vltava River. The main task was to create digital terrain model of the original Vltava valley. The passage from Zvírotice to Svatojánské proudy has been chosen as the model territory. Two selected municipalities Zvírotice and Živohošť were thoroughly worked up. Many data sources were used in this work, such as historical photographs, historical aerial photographs or current orthophoto maps. Digital terrain models were created with the help of these datas and then the models were overlain with the orthophotos. 3D models of buildings and vegetation were put in the terrain models. Two periods were compared, 50th of the 20th century and present. Results of this work are fly-by animations and perspective scenes. The results will be used in newly built museum in Chotilsko town. Keywords: 3D reconstruction, DTM, land cover changes, orthophoto
3D reconstruction of landscape in abandoned villages of borderlands and military zones
Jelének, Jan ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Oršulák, Tomáš (referee)
3D reconstruction of landscape: A case study of extinct municipalities in Czech borderlands and military areas Abstract This work deals with theoretical and practical possibilities to use GIS to create three-dimensional model of landscape changes. The object of the work was the creation and visualization of three-dimensional model of extinct municipalities Padrť in a military area Brdy and Košťálkov in the borderlands. The work used many available data sources, such as historical aerial photographs, historical photos, current orthophotos or historical maps. These data and specialized software were used to create digital models of the selected area, including three-dimensional models of buildings and vegetation, with emphasis on historical closeness. Work was focused on three selected periods of history: 40th of the 18th century, 30th to 50th of the 20th century and present. The work resulted in fly-by animations and perspective scenes, which are compared with historical photographs. Historical models are also confronted with each other by a dynamic fading in fly-by animations.
