New trends in production and consumption of organic food

The literature search is devoted to legislation in the area of organic farming, I defined the concepts of organic and conventional farming and I have dealt with the principles of organic agriculture, control systems, certification, labeling and quality of organic food and organic products, organic food in the Czech market, and I compiled statistics on organic farming and organic food production. In the practical part I have dealt with new trends in organic produce, new trends in sales of organic food and organic food in public catering.
Ethic status of personal consumption

The aim of my Bachelor thesis is a list of certificates that will help people to select and promote manufacturers and traders who behave sensitively towards the environment, animals and people. The theoretical section of my work contains various sources of information about reducing personal consumption, about organic food, fair trade and ethical personal consumption in terms of reducing the negative impact of excessive consumption on the environment. In the practical part of my work I have sorted collected certificates into groups for better consumer understanding and created learning material for students who are specialised in Education for health and other people who are interested in this field. I assessed the extent and quality of the services offered by two information centres. My data were obtained by an analysis method and a synthetic method, and also by a directed interview. Both research questions were confirmed.
Analysis of the Supply of Biofood in Outdoor Boarding

This bachelor's thesis concerns the analysis of the organic food offer in out of home catering. It's main aim is to find out the situation at Prague's restaurants, whether and because of which reason they offer or do not offer the organic food. The theoretical part contains the basic information concerning the problems of organic food, its production, labelling, way of control of ecological farmers and the comparison of prices between the organic and traditional food.There are also described the methods and techniques of the marketing research. The practical section is divided into two parts. In the first part the tasks of the questionnaire have been evaluated. This questionnaire was carried out in the frame of the marketing research. The second part contains the assessment of the specified hypotheses.
Usage a method of image analysis for assessment of cereals coverage in terms of ecological agriculture

Determination of the cover of plants is important, both in terms of assessing the situation and crop canopy, and also in terms of weed infestation of cultivated plants. Thesis deals with the usefulness of new methods for the determination of coverage by using computer technology. The literature review presents the characteristics of weeds, options and methods for their control. In organic farming is a big emphasis on prevention, which is a fundamental measure in plant protection. Regulate the density of weed plants is very important in terms of competitive ability and productivity of plants, which obviously affects the yield. The results of this analysis process and practical implementation methods for image analysis and comparison of this method of estimation method. Experiments were carried out under organic farming conditions in cereals respectively in stands of different types of spring wheat. In comparison with the estimate using the image analysis appears promising method that can be applied in practice in determining cover.
Bio Products in the Nourishment of Student of the Faculty of Education, University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice, Department of Education to Health

The aim of the thesis was to get health-related information about the students of the Health Education study programme at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. It was aimed at finding out about the students' awareness of organic food, their attitude to it and its inclusion to their diet. In the theoretical part, organic farming and organic food were defined on the basis of effective legislation. The organic food processing, food quality and food influence on health were specified. In the practical part, the survey findings were elaborated. The research was done on 260 students of the Health Education study programme. The findings showed that the students are familiar with organic food and that they include it to their diet.
Distribution of Organic Production - Organic Boxes

This diploma thesis inquires into organic box distribution analysis. The main purpose of this thesis is to look more closely at organic box schemes and consumer behaviour related to organic boxes. First part focuses on organic farming and particular types of distribution channels used in organic farming. Second part identifies chosen organic box schemes and their members, such as farmers and co-operatives. These members as well as consumers were interviewed on a specific questionnaire-basis. All gathered data were later evaluated and synthesized. According to those, working hypotheses were assessed. At the end of this thesis, it was established that the supply of organic box schemes (farmers, co-operatives) meets its particular demand (consumers of organic food).
Organic farming as a way towards sustainable development

The aim of the thesis "Organic farming as a way towards sustainable development" is to consider whether the organic farming is a feasible mean to obtain sustainability, eventually under what conditions. In the initiatory chapters, the terms of sustainable development, its evolution, different approaches and methods of measurement, sustainable agriculture and organic farming and its principles will be defined. The core analysis will examine the organic farming from three views corresponding with the three pillars of sustainable development. Ecological aspects involve impacts of organic farming on nature; economic aspects deal with the viability of organic farm and efficiency of organic farming as a governmental tool; social viewpoint cover the ability to feed the present and future population and be a benefit in general.
Would the phenomenon of organic farming boom and flourish even without the generous support of subsidies?

This bachelor thesis should answer this question: Would the phenomenon of organic farming boom and flourish even without the generous support of subsidies? Would there still be an interest in existing in this field even without pump-priming done by the state and by the European Union? Would the mere desire to live more healthily be enough for organic farmers? We will examine the growth in popularity of organic food which is illustrated by the existence of 2000 organic farms in the Czech Republic and also by the supply of organic food in shops. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the term "organic farming". Attention also will be paid to legal regulations because organic farming in the Czech Republic is defined by Act No 242/2000 coll. on organic farming, by MoA Decree 16/2006 coll., by Commission Regulation (EC) No 889/2008, by Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production which came into effect on January 1, 2009. The thesis also deals with Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union between 2007 and 2013, the Action Plan of the Czech Republic for the Development of Organic Farming and principles of subsidisation in the year 2009. The practical part will be focused on results on economic analysis at approximately 3 farms which are specialised in bull or goat production.
Position and Potential of the Organic Farming in Rregional Development

The thesis analyses the position and potential of organic farming in regional development or more precisely rural development in local area of farming of particular organic farms in the Czech Republic environment. It judges correlation among socio-economic indicators, share of organic farming land on agricultural land in the local area and share of less favoured area in administrative local unit of the Municipalities with extended competence. The part of the thesis deals with delimitation of term "Rural area" and its specification in particular patterns, and analysis of the same indicators as mentioned above in each of the pattern.

The aim of this bachelor parer is to clarify the concept of organic farming and its comparison with conventional agriculture. There are described the principles and objectives of this farming, the benefits that come with it and also the development of organic farming in Europe, in our country (the Czech Republic), including its current status. Furthermore, the work introduces us to the process of requesting for registration of organic farming on the farm, with legislation, the control system or with the support provided by the State. The practical part of the work deals with classification of the current status of organic farming in the Czech Republic from the perspective of farmers who participated in the questionnaire. And deals with the major problems which farmers often solve.
