Reactive Powder Concrete
Gabko, Miroslav ; Klečka,, Tomáš (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
Reactive powder composites (RPC) have been recently a subject of many researches of modern concrete technology. This type of concrete is very fine and its behaviour exceeds the other types of concrete, therefore there are new possibilities of its use. The design and production of RPC is complex technology process which needs to gain new results in RPC research to get the best features regarding its higher price. This thesis is focused on design of reactive powder concrete (RPC200), which compressive strength is between 200 – 300 MPa. Next goal is to prove the influence of curing regimes like high temperature or pressure, and also check the possibilities of production of low cement reactive powder composite (LCRPC).
The development of ultra-high strength (UHPC) and reactive powder (RPC) composites
Rundt, Lukáš ; Hela,, Vlastimil (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis studies ultra-high strength concrete and reactive powder composites. In theoretical part there are researched and described properties of raw materials used for their production, mainly additions. Design methodology, processing and types of curing are also studied. Psychical mechanic and durability properties of fresh and hardened concrete are described. In practical part 4 mixtures were designed and prepared and their rheological properties, strengths after 7 and 90 days in case of UHPC and strengths after 7, 28 and 60 days in case of RPC were tested.
Study of the influence of composition and curing of self-leveling cement screeds on their properties in the early stage of maturation
Powetz, Dominik ; Štenko,, Miroslav (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the study of the influence of composition and curing of self-leveling cement screeds on their properties in the early stage of maturation. Within this work, various concepts of ensuring the volume stability of cement self-leveling screeds were verified. An anti-shrink additive based on neopentyl glycol and an expansion additive based on hard-burnt lime were used as modifiers. The reduction of plastic and overall shrinkage using various types of liquid membrane-forming compounds was verified on the most volume-stable screed using the optical dilatometry method. The effectiveness of the individual solutions was monitored by continuous measurement of the intensity of evaporation from the screed surface. Subsequently, the effect of membrane-forming compounds on the residual moisture of the cured treated cement self-leveling screed was measured by the carbide method and also the effect of this curing on the adhesion of bonded ceramic tiles.
Knowledge and skills of nurses about modern way of treating non-healing wounds in pediatric patients
Nešporová, Julie ; Nikodemová, Hana (advisor) ; Zámečníková, Kateřina (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "The knowledge and skills of nurses using modern ways to treat non- healing wounds in paediatric patients" deals with issues of difficult non-healing wounds occurring in children, their origin, their development and treatment. The goal of this thesis was to assess how much knowledge and skills nurses have in the field of professional treatment of wounds in children and its eventual measures to make an improvement of the patient's condition. The theoretical part brings an overview of reasons why wounds develop, their healing and current products that are used in the medical field for treatment. The empirical part summarizes the results of my own research and compares the results with other studies. To implement this thesis a questionnaire was made and distributed to selected wards in the Motol University Hospital. Into the study were included 71 fully completed questionnaires. After assessing the results a 100% success rate wasn't achieved by any nurse that partook in the study but it's obvious, they have certain knowledge about the matter. In conclusion, we accepted that this is a rare issue in paediatrics which needs to be researched further and correct procedures for nurses in practice need to be finalized.
The issue of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients
BERNATÍKOVÁ, Andrea
Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Aims of the thesis: Find out which interventions nurses are practicing to prevent pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Explore the nurses' experience in treating pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Methodology and research set: To achieve the objectives, research questions were created. What are the interventions used to prevent pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients? What is the experience of nurses in treating pressure ulcers in the selected institutes? The empirical part of this bachelor´s thesis was created using a qualitative research method. The data was collected using semi-structured interviews which were conducted with nurses at selected departments of three hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. The research sample "nurses" consists of 15 nurses in total, each with a minimal experience of 3 years. The interviews were complemented by a long-term direct, participant observation involving 5 nurses from one of the three South Bohemian hospitals in the selected department. The data obtained were processed using the pen and paper interviewing method (PAPI). Open coding was used and the data were then sorted into eight categories and 15 subcategories. Results: The results of the survey showed that the nurses encounter the issue of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients almost on daily basis. Nurses were able to list the interventions used in the prevention of pressure ulcers among the geriatric patients. Our investigation revealed that some nurses did not take the same action in practice when compared to their statements and described their practices in treating pressure ulcers among geriatric patients only in theory. They are knowledgeable about treating pressure ulcers patients but in practice they do not abide by certain principles. These include the use of protective equipment during bandaging, adherence to indications, communication with the patient, monitoring the patient's general condition, maintaining sterility, supervision and care of the area around pressure ulcers. Recommendations for practice: We recommend the inclusion of more courses about the topic of pressure ulcers in nurse education as it is essential to have sufficient information and regular education to provide quality care. We also recommend that in addition to theoretical knowledge nurses should be given practical training in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.

Vliv použití snížených výsevků jílku jednoletého na výnos osiva
Tůma, Antonín
The topic of the thesis is "Effect of reduced annual annual ryegrass seed rate on seed yield". This influence was assessed on the basis of our experiment at ŠS Slavice during 2018. The thesis describes the establishment of an experiment with annual varieties of ryegrass, inclu-ding the characteristics of the locality and varieties, growing technology and harvesting technology. During the growing season, the evaluation of yield elements took place in these stands. The results of the research were recorded in tables, graphically represented in the graphs and statistically evaluated. The half-rate reduction was the best option for statistical evaluation, which is 4.5 MKS/ha for diploid variety and 3.5 MKS/ha for tetraploid variety. The stands with this seed rate reached a yield comparable to that of full seed rate. In view of this, such a reduced seed rate can be recommended for practice, as this will reduce the input cost of a part of the seed.
Differences in the care of patients after a complete knee and hip replacement from the standpoint of the nurse.
LUŇÁČKOVÁ, Jana
Complete knee and hip replacement are one of the most common surgical procedures in an orthopedic practice. The care of these patients places very high demands on the attending nurse and follows strict guidelines. The occurrence rate of indications for the knee/hip replacement has risen recently. The reason behind it is higher stress on the bearing joints due to alarming rise in obesity, arthritic changes in the joints etc. Surgical procedure can restore mobility and independence of the patient. Part of the successful postoperative care is a close cooperation with the physiotherapy specialist. Orthopedic nurses carry full responsibility for the patient's care and therefore should be informed on its specifics. The bachelor thesis is divided into two sections, theoretical and empirical. The theoretical section focuses on the anatomy of the knee and hip joint, history of the replacement procedure and its indications and contraindications. It also discusses the specifics of the care of the patient. The empirical section covers research. The objective of the thesis is to discover different aspects of nursing care of the patient after total hip replacement and knee replacement and to investigate whether nursing staff possesses the knowledge of these aspects. Three basic questions were formulated: 1. What are the differences in care between the total knee replacement and total hip replacement patients? 2. In what areas of patient care, according to the nurses' point of view, do these differences exist? 3. What areas of patient care after total knee/hip replacement do nurses find the most difficult? A qualitative research method has been used to accomplish results for this thesis. Data collection has been carried out through semi-structured interviews and assisted observations. The research has taken place at a single location, an orthopedic department of a hospital. The research was completely anonymous, interviews and observations took place from April 8th 2016 through May 31st 2016. A semi-structured interviews were used for the data collection. Nurses were given 14 basic questions (see Appendix) that were followed by additional sub-questions during the interviews. Then the interview results were sorted into groups by their category for better comprehension. An assisted observation was another technique used. The acquired data have been input into a prepared table (see Appendix). The interviews and observations were carried out with the same subjects/nurses. The data collected showed that the care of the total knee replacement patient does not fundamentally differ from that of a total hip replacement patient. The only differences found were those in positioning of the patient, utilization of compensation aids, rehabilitation care and, according to the nurses, also in prevention of possible complications. The most common problems occur in connection with the manipulation of the patient. Nurses seem to lack a clear guidance as to by who and how the patient should be informed prior to the replacement procedure. This bachelor thesis has been compiled in such a way as to outline basic overview of the patient care differences and to be used as an information source for the experienced as well as the inexperienced nursing staff. Practical aspect of this thesis is a proposal for a seminar (see Appendix) on the issue of patient care differences after a total knee/hip replacement.
