The synthesis of ecology and economics as a possible solution to ecological crisis

The presented thesis is focused on a ecological crisis. It is considered as a global probleme, which is connected with a world economy. The first part reflects manifestations of the ecological crisis such as for example a pollution of water and air, a climate changing and problems of waste etc. Than the thesis deals with social-economic problems of poverty, deficit of food and water, which are related to the physical manifestations. The followig part defines the neoclassical conventional economics and how does it bound up with the ecological crisis and how does it contribute to gettig worse the conterporary state of environment. After that is presented the ecological economics as the cognitive tool, which would be helpful in the elimination of the ecological crisis and probably in the prevention a far worse situation. The text showes, that only the conventional look at natural sources is not possible today.

Overoptimism - implications for law and economics

The bachelor thesis focuses on one of the behavioral biases - optimism bias or overoptimism - which existence is documented in findings of behavioral economics. The thesis introduces behavioral economics as an economic movement criticizing neoclassical economic theory, put oveoptimism in the broader context of its findings and further demonstrates the consequences of overly optimistic expectations in selected areas of human decision-making which deals with the economic analysis of law in contrast to the conclusions which can be arrived by assuming rational agent. In the context of approach of Chicago Law and Economics, based on neoclassical economic theory, and by assuming a perfectly competitive market, the thesis concludes that while in case of rationality the maximum efficiency is achieved by internalization of externalities, overoptimism cause a deviation from the optimum even if externalities are internalized.

A feminist critique of the neoclassical economics

The Bachelor Degrese Thesis deals with the evaluation of the feminist criticism of neoclassical economics. The fundamental question is whether the critical feminist judgments will have any serious impact to the neoclassical theory. The first part is a placement of both schools in their approach. Another part is following by a general criticism of the feminists at model area, methods and topics. In the last part, based on the analysis of family economics and investment in human capital of children, concludes that feminist criticism is unjustified. The thesis accepts the criteria for accepting its claims in a poorly reasoned argument of the critics and subsequently weak alternative starting points.

Solution of Traffic Noise in Perspective of Neoclassical and Liberal Economics

Basic concepts used in the bachelor theses are defined in the introductory part, in particular noise and indicators applied in noise assessment. A brief description of current state of noise situation in the Czech Republic takes up. It focuses on overstaying of noise limits and determination of territory affected by noise. The next part of the theses is devoted to potential solutions of noise issues in neoclassical and liberal economics. In terms of neoclassical economics, especially economic evaluation of noise and cost -- benefit analysis are dealt with. Within liberal economics, attention is paid to civil law suits and judicial verdicts in noise causes. The closing part of the theses compares both neoclassical and liberal approaches and submits advantages and disadvantages of their solution of noise issues.
