Nuclear Power Plants Security
Štěpán, Jakub ; Smutný, Milan (referee) ; Ellederová, Eva (advisor)
Koncept bezpečnosti a zabezpečení jaderných elektráren je složitý. Bezpečný provoz jaderných elektráren má zásadní význam pro spolehlivou a neškodnou výrobu elektřiny. Nehoda spojená s tímto typem zařízení by mohla mít negativní dopad na zdraví lidí, volně žijících zvířat, a mohla by způsobit znečištění životního prostředí.
Breakdowns caused by water hammer
Kuřátko, Jiří ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
The goal of this bachelors thesis is to explain how water hammer occurs, listing often used protective devices that help mitigate this event and research of accidents caused by water hammer. The thesis deals with theoretical introduction into the topic, describing preservation laws for fluids, most common causes of water hammer and characteristics connected to this phenomenon. Then it mentions often used protective devices for both overpressure and negative pressure. Finally there are accidents caused by water hammer, some with unusual causes, which however still need to be taken into consideration when designing a pipeline.
Analysis of parachute accidents 2011-2019
Žolna, Josef ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Dvorský, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Analysis of parachute accidents for the period 2011-2019 Objectives: The objective of this work is to create tables of analyzes of parachuting accidents from 2011 to 2019 in the Czech Republic. The tables will categorize the information collected according to the causes of the accidents, the reasons for the accidents, the consequences of the accidents and the severity of the injuries. The results from the accident tables should indicate the integrity of the parachute equipment and the overall safety in carrying out the activity. Methods: The method of analysis is used for the analysis of parachute accidents, which are then divided according to the established general criteria. The discussion evaluates the results from the tables with the findings with the help of statistical calculations. Specifically, the arithmetic mean, range, ratio and frequency are used. Results: In relation to accidents with jumps performed in the Czech Republic, it became clear that accidents occur only in exceptional cases. It has been found that the vast majority of a parachute accident is human error and a technical defect causes only a fraction of them, on the other hand, there are more serious injuries to parachutists. The most frequently affected parachuting category is category Ž (pupil) and category D....
Toxicovigilance of accidents with household chemical products in the Czech Republic.
Mrázová, Karolina ; Pelclová, Daniela (advisor) ; Benešová, Veronika (referee) ; Brhel, Petr (referee)
1 Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate the numbers, severity and causes of accidents, occurring in the households due to the cleaning products. Among the groups of potentially dangerous cleaning products, the highest proportion of accidents was caused by cleaning products containing sodium hypochloride (37 %), descalers containing acids (29 %) and dishwasher tablets (25 %). A lower percentage of inquiries appeared due to hydroxides containing drain cleaning products (7 %). In the year 2009, there were 251 inquiries to the Toxicological Information Centre due to cleaning products in defined categories studied. Among them, there were 133 children and 118 adult patients, who ingested cleaning product accidentally (86%) or for suicidal purposes (3%); inhaled (9%) or had an eye contact with the product (2%). There were 23% children and 27% adults hospitalized; the children most frequently due to accidental ingestion of hydroxides (92%), the adults due to the inhalation of irritant vapors (64%). Among them 14% children (86% due to the ingestion of cleaning products containing hydroxides) have been examined using the endoscopy (in the total anesthesia), in addition to 5% adults. The study has shown that the most common cause of the accidents in children is the distraction of the adults; nevertheless, the...
Příčiny nehod operátorů při práci s lesnickými harvestory a forwardery

Influence of landscape type surrounding the roads towards the frequency of traffic accidents in Písek region
Necid, Pavel ; Bašta, Petr (advisor) ; Gdulová, Kateřina (referee)
Bachelor thesis aimed on analysis of car Accidents in the area of MEC Pisek in relation to the landscape. Database of car accidents within years 2007 - 2013 was analyzed as well as the basic terrain parameters. The results show high complexity and interconnection between all factors. The results of simple database analysis show, that there is higher risk of car accident on Monday and Sunday, as well as highest risk of drink drive offence on Saturday. Elevation and slope of the terrain does not play any major role. There is also no reason for fear from driving in the forest. For detailed analysis, much more complex data are needed.
