The development of teen drama since 1990s. On the example of TV series Beverly Hills 90210 and Gossip girl.

Diploma thesis "The development of teen drama since 1990s. On the example of TV series Beverly Hills 90210 and Gossip girl." is thematic and narrative analysis of two American teen drama television series, Beverly Hills 90210 and Gossip girl. Teen drama genre has been developing for more than twenty years and the aim of my research is to compare the display of the youth in teen drama since the early 1990s until present. In the theoretical part of my work I present a sociological and culturological basis for study of youth and adolescence, as well as classification of serial production within television studies and description of its impact on development of teen drama. The empirical part includes qualitative theme analysis of each of the series and narrative analysis of characters.
The possibilities of using a story in a correlation at work with people traumatized by brain injury

This thesis contains two parts, theoretical one and practical one. The first part is mostly about a theoretical definition. It is mainly focused on following terms: story, life story, narrative approach, trauma, acquired disablement. Attention is paid to a target group (people with a brain trauma), they are also important in the practical part later. The thesis mentions the most frequent occasions of a brain injury/damage and their potencial consequences. Each information is connected with the main topic of this thesis. The organisation, where stories were used as a part of Social Therapy Workshop, is briefly introduced at the end of the first part. In the practical part some findings are devolved into a profession. The stories, which were collected during the direct work with clients of Social Therapy Workshop, are the most significant texts of this part. There is a space for client's particular life stories, they are analyzed than. The personal topic of each client is highlighted and the thesis provides various interpretations. The summary of the whole cooperation is situated at the end of this part. It includes links to process of individual consultations and individual plan fulfilment. Postmodern Characteristics of KURT VONNEGUT

This thesis analyzes narrative strategies of Kurt Vonnegut as a postmodern author with a specific style. The first part defines postmodernism as opposed to modernism and explains all essential notions to provide the theoretical background. This part also includes a biographical element, describing the important events of the author's life, as these had a major influence on his work. Second part of the thesis analyzes the narrative style of the two selected books, Breakfast of Champions and Mother Night. The conclusion summarizes the most important specifics of the author's narrative strategies and style in the given books. This thesis presents Kurt Vonnegut as a significant and influential representative of postmodern American literature of the second half of the 20th century. Vonnegut fully employs the narrative strategies typical for this period, and by experimenting he creates his own unique style.
