This Master Thesis focuses on the American railroads as a whole. It describes the evolution of the railroads and the on-going transformation of its importance in comparison with other means of transport. Further, there are described 5 major railway companies and the state owned company Amtrak, which focuses on passenger transport. The analysis elaborates on the topic of competitivness of Amtrak in various corridors. The author is seeking the answer to the question: Is there a possible gap in the passenger transport market that Amtrak can fill?

This thesis on a topic of "Analysis of insurance in trading and transport company" is about insurance products connected with cargo transport. The thesis analysis current insurance products, that a company should have, while in business. These products should secure the company in case of an unexpected insurance event and consists of several type sof insurance, such as liability motor insurance, car insurance, legal protection insurance and third-party insurance. The thesis main point is to show the importace of insurance in cargo transport and describes a komplex view to all the insurance avers that are suitable, useful, redquired and offered by insurance companies, for a company with such a nature of business.

Freight rail transport in the USA

In this bachelor thesis, I am going to characterize the evolution of rail transport in the USA since the very beginning in the 19th century until nowadays. In particular, I want to write about current trends in freight rail transport, infrastructure, situation on the American market, safety and also about the relationship with environment. In the second party, I am going to analyze two major companies on the market -- Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern. To be more precise, I would like to review their history, portfolio of the commodities they transport, locomotive and car rosters and economic situation. In the final conclusion, I sum up the current situation in the USA, concerning the most significant and typical characteristics of the rail freight transport and the differences between the USA and the Europe.
