Music Instrumental Ensembles at Primary Schools

The thesis is focused on the activity of children instrumental ensembles in the region of the capital city Prague. In the first chapter we are studying the role of a musical instrument during the development of musical education in Czech schools. The next chapter concerns with psychological aspect of the human personality. Musical skills and abilities acquired by playing musical instrument and especially engaging in an ensemble, where it is important to perceive every other person and instrument support its development. The teachers are also an important part of an ensemble. We are dealing with use of the musical instruments that are currently available for teachers at schools. The research part of the thesis is dedicated to the particular ensembles in the region of Prague. Our goal was to map and summarize what motivates children to play in the ensembles and to find out what leads people to found musical ensembles, what they expect their work to be like and what they would appreciate in their pedagogical experience.
Methods of the new experimental procedures in the field of physical acoustics of wind instruments

This thesis deals with the problematic of methods of measurement of the acoustical behavior in the field of brass wind instruments. The principles of videokymography are shown and a new kymography-based method of high-speed measuring of lips opening area is derived and described. Various other methods are discussed. Musical instruments recognition from audio records using Music information retrieval techniques

This paper discusses design and implementation of classifying system for recognition of musical instruments from audio records with use of Musical Information Retrieval techniques. In the first part, paper describes parameters used for instrument classification, calculation of said parameters from records and reduction of feature vector. Next part is devoted to tuning and implementation of various classifiers with focus on neural networks. These classifiers ar further tested on records from IRMAS dataset wchich contain 11 musical instruments playing solo or with other instruments. Results of classifiers tested on different parameters and different numbers of instruments are discussed in the last part.
Chosen activities in connection with music in leisure time by pupils in the 2nd and 3rd grades in primary schools

This work deals with musical activities by children at the younger school age. The theoretic part deals with the conception of music and leisure time, the roles of music, active and passive music utilisation. Next the younger school age and the term musical creativity is defined. In connection with musical creativity its characteristics and psychological prerequisites are also described. The practical part deals with the chosen musical activities by pupils in second and third grades of primary school. Questionnaires are used in order to discover how the pupils of these grades are devoting their time to musical activities in their leisure time and whether the pupils devote themselves to music in the active or passive way.
Introducion the musical instuments in kindergarten

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create an educational programme, which is focused on familiarizing with musical instruments in nursery schools. The program should in a fun form, through various games and attractive activities, introduce to preschool children not only individual instruments but also their division into three basic groups. In the theoretical part, I deal with musical instruments in the context of the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education, as well as with the specifics of music perception, musical ideas and memory of a preschool child and with characteristics of individual musical instruments. The content of the practical part is creation of a programme Musical Instruments Introduction, which corresponds to the specifics of preschool children education, verification of its use in nursery schools, subsequent evaluation according to a predetermined evaluation plan and pedagogical measures contributing to the optimization of the programme.
Tone and Chord Recognition as an Android Application

The aim of this work is to recognize tones and chords on any musical instrument using the microphone on Android mobile devices. The app scans or records the sounds which are analyzed. It writes to a visual representation which is similar to the musical notation. The work describes the problems of recognition and the solution of the problem using fast Fourier transformation and analysis of the spectrum of volumes. Work describes the theory of music and the training of individual tones. The application was subjected to user tests and recognition accuracy tests. The conclusion includes tests results and statistics from the Google Play publication.
Development of music and movement choreography for preschool children using my own didactic tools

Master's thesis addresses the implementation of didactic tool to musical movement activities of preschool children in kindergarten with respect to the integrative nature of education. The first part of the thesis is covering theoretical side of the important aspects of child development at the age of five to six years. Further it deals with the specifics of the development of musicality in preschoolers, especially focusing on instrumental side of the music. It highlights the musical creativity that flows from the principles of Orff School. Musical creativity is one of the objective of the thesis second, practical part. Here thesis research music educational project whose main component is a methodical set Cup Song that contains suggestions for practical usage. Experiment, observation and structured interview are used as methods of research that is focused on verification of the Cup Song impact on a musical and personal development of the child.
