The Analysis of Factors Affecting Electricity Consumption
Seiml, Jan ; Mařica, Lukáš (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the course of consumption of electricity. One of the feasible ways of description is statistical analysis, which enables to calculate statistically significant factors and their combinations that contributed to the course of consumption of electricity. These factors may be used for modulation of future electricity consumption, and therefore also for long-time prediction. The second chapter discusses the expansion of electricity usage in the Czech Republic from the turn of the 19th century until nowadays. The chapter describes the development of transmission system, development of electricity consumption in the sectors of the national economy, possibilities of using electric energy, and overall balance of electricity and sources of energy. The third chapter presents an overview of usage and consumption of electrical energy in the neighboring European countries as well as in the most interesting countries of the World. The fourth chapter contains statistical analysis. The first part of the chapter details a list of the analyzed quantities of individual consumptions, of the investigated factors, and the analyzed countries. Further, the chapter explains the method of statistical analysis via using simple and multiple regression and its subsequent application and evaluation for the Czech Republic and the others European countries. According to the result, it is GDP that has the main impact on the trends in the course of consumption of electricity. However, it is necessary to consider other factors influencing the consumption of electricity, too, and not rely solely on GDP in terms of long-time prediction of electricity consumption. The fifth chapter discusses the reduction of electricity consumption and savings, which can be both political and macroeconomic result. Quantification of savings is not always unequivocal and any cost-saving actions can lead to an increase in electricity consumption, which can, in effect, be bigger than any possible savings.
Model of Development of the Czech Agriculture
Gálová, Dagmar ; Zinecker, Marek (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
The main goal this master thesis is the identification of key factors influencing the performance and production of Czech agriculture. The work contains into three parts. First part summarizes theoretically background concepts for construction models with looking historical contexts. The second part builds a data base for another work. The third part of the thesis is computational, formulates specific numerical models of possible answer. This part contains a discussion of the results and definitions of possible limits.
Vliv devizového rizika na výkonnost firem
Kučerová, Aneta
The aim of this bachelor thesis is evaluation of the foreign exchange risk influence on the performance of firms that are part of the European Union that don’t have euro as their national currency and face this risk throughout running their international business. Within analysis was used multiple regression method. Results of the analysis are compared with other works that studied this issue and based on conclusions are formulated recommendation towards firm management area.
The Friends and Neighbours Effect and Its Relevance to Voting Behaviour in Czech Parliamentary Elections
Pileček, Radek
Voter decision-making about which political party to support in the elections is a very complex process. One of the key factors influencing our voting behaviour is the effect of particular candidates in terms of their local activities. Many Czech and also foreign studies show that candidates gain significantly higher preferences in the municipality of their residence and its surroundings. Within the analyzed parliamentary elections, this is reflected not only by the territorial concentration of preferential votes, but also by higher local electoral support of the political parties or movements represented by these candidates. This diploma thesis examines, among other things, differences in the strength of the described effect (technically called the friends and neighbours effect) between candidates from different political parties and in different regions of Czechia. Quantitative research has shown greater local strength and spatial extent of friends and neighbours effect for leading candidates from non-metropolitan areas who have experiences from local or regional politics, such as mayors or regional councilors. In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the friends and neighbours effect mostly influenced the spatial patterns of electoral support of the KDU-ČSL and the STAN movement and on the other...

Analysis of weather effect on TV audience
Leová, Monika ; Arltová, Markéta (advisor) ; Hanzák, Tomáš (referee)
Diploma thesis analyzes the influence of weather on TV audience in the Czech Republic in 2012 to 2016 by using data of the Association of Television Organizations and meteorological data of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. The first part of the thesis deals with the phenomenon of TV ratings, discusses its importance for contemporary society and puts it in the frame of other leisure activities. Additionally, it introduces the current Czech TV market, electronic measurement of TV ratings, its main institutions and complementary research. The empirical part of the diploma thesis focuses on realization of the statistical analysis. Weather components (temperature, rain falls and cloudiness) that affect TV viewing have been identified by using a suitable regression model and their weight in the aggregate meteo factor have been determined. The final model, in addition to weather elements, takes into account calendar effects (day of the week, holidays, season) as well as interaction between weather and calendar effects. The model was applied to total TV audience as well as to selected groups of TV channels, to individual age categories, whole day, prime time and off time and also separately to so called guests TV audience.

Utilizing Bootstrap and Cross-validation for prediction error estimation in regression models
Lepša, Ondřej ; Bašta, Milan (advisor) ; Malá, Ivana (referee)
Finding a well-predicting model is one of the main goals of regression analysis. However, to evaluate a model's prediction abilities, it is a normal practice to use criteria which either do not serve this purpose, or criteria of insufficient reliability. As an alternative, there are relatively new methods which use repeated simulations for estimating an appropriate loss function -- prediction error. Cross-validation and bootstrap belong to this category. This thesis describes how to utilize these methods in order to select a regression model that best predicts new values of the response variable.
Contractual system in Slovakian infrastructure
Hrdlička, Aleš ; Pavel, Jan (advisor) ; Ochrana, František (referee)
The analysis of factors influencing the final cost of large contracts in Slovakian infrastructure is the main concern of this study. I will be talking about general Slovakian infrastructure as a whole, contractual law, the contractual system itself and its grading.
