Prosocial behavior of pupils in a seccond grade of grammar school and its causes
HLAVÁČKOVÁ, Nina
Research studies conducted in field of prosocial behaviour testify to the existence of situational and dispositional motifs of this kind of acting. Aim of this thesis is firstly to map occurence of three of these motifs, specifically: oportunity to gain recognition, reciprocity expectation and social responsibility. Secondly it is uncovering possible dependence of these motifs on age or level of prosociality of pupils in a seccond grade of grammar school. The research part of this project has a center of gravity in a quantitative approach. In this framework is being found truthfulness of hypoteses, whether each motive has with age decreasing or increasing tendency and what is actually the frequency of their occurence. In combination with the nomination method of prosocial behaviour in classroom is also being uncovered possible dependency of level of prosociality on individual factors. The theoretical framework that precedes the research section of this thesis, discusses the evolution of prosocial behaviour and contemporary social perspective on this behaviour. This historical excursion is supplemented by the definition of terms used, the reflection of the role of social and biological factors and formulation of influence of school and family evironment in shaping child's prosocial orientation.
Little Prince by Saint Exupery as moral appeal and hope.
ZÁVOROVÁ, Marta
In my diploma thesis titled Saint-Exupéry´s Little Prince as a moral challenge and hope I deal with ethical issues and moral principles which are losing their meaning and perhaps also an importance for many fellow citizens in today´s hectic time. A morality of a person depends on morals throughout the society to which an individual belongs. A penetration of philosophical themes about the meaning of life in the Little Prince helps a reader to orient himself and to think about the life itself. In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with a biography of A. de Saint-Exupéry and an analysis of the work of the Little Prince. Other chapters are devoted to a theoretical introduction of the concepts of ethics and morality. In a subsequent chapter there is dealt with an individual´s moral development according to Piaget and Kohlberg. In the practical part of the diploma thesis I set a goal of the thesis and hypotheses. The goal of the thesis is to characterize a possibility how to use Saint Exupéry´s work as a mean how to educate our young generation directly through its own reading or via their reading parents. It is one of the aspects of a current need to educate the children and youth in ethics and to get it back with a due attention to our primary and secondary schools. The research sample was composed of students from the multi-years´ Gymnasium in Vimperk and Strakonice aged 11 to 19 years. To obtain data for the investigation I chose a method of an own questionnaire, designed to meet research needs. The survey was anonymous. After an evaluation, I summarized the obtained data into tables and graphs. In the discussion I analysed and evaluated the results for individual questions. In a conclusion of the thesis the stated hypotheses were confirmed.
Is Politeness (Moral treatment) a weakness? ( A genesis of the positive treatment in the societ)
KUŘÁTKOVÁ, Lucie
ABSTRACT In the presented bachelor theses, I concentrated myself on the conception of the morale behavior (generally understood as a proper behavior) in the society and its progress from the historical point of view (aiming to a morale ideal). But I also focused my attention on the present state of the given problem {--} i.e. on the conception of the ethics in the contemporary ``postmodern{\crqq} society with its consumer manner of life. Further, I concentrated myself on the individual (pragmatical) morality and its negative influence on forming of the ethic behavior. It means, what the present society considers as a moral behavior and what is considered to be an immoral behavior, and how the conception and understanding of the morality in the society has been changed. The theses is divided into two parts. The theoretical part of the theses deals with the explication of the terms ethics and morality, with a brief characteristic of individual theories explaining (describing) the moral development of the individual (personality), with the basic psychology of the pubescence time period and of the moral development in course of this time of the human life (i.e. adolescence). The main aim of the practical part of the theses was to find out the approach of the students of Gymnasium (young people) to the morale and to the morale behavior in the society. Further, the purpose was also to find out, what kind of behavior is still considered to be morale and what immoral. As for the data collection concerning the elaboration of the practical part of the bachelor theses, the quantitative questioning method and the technics of the questioning investigation (questionary) were used. For the purpose of the questioning investigation, an anonymous questionary of own construction was used. Closed questions were used first of all, where the respondents had the possibility of indicating only one answer corresponding with their personal opinion utmost. The elaborated questionary was presented to the students of the first and fourth classes of Gymnasium in Písek. The opinion level was evaluated individually with both age categories and than the comparison of the opinion levels of both these groups was carried out. Before opening the research itself, 4 work hypotheses have been chosen (1 main hypothesis and three other partial hypotheses). The information from the questionary was worked out manually by means of the bar code method. The graphic presentation of the results from the questionary was made by means of column graphs in the programme Microsoft Office Excel. In the discussion, the results are compared with the professional literature and the work hypotheses are evaluated. In the end, own opinion on the given problems and the possibilities of the utilization of this work in the practice are presented. After evaluating the results gained from the questionary investigation, I found out, that the predefined main hypothesis has not been certified. The students of Gymnasium in Písek do not consider the proper behavior (morale) to be an expression of some weakness. Both age categories agree on this conclusion. The results of this bachelor theses should serve for information of both the general and the professional public about opinions of a certain pattern of the young generation of the propriety (morale behavior) on interpersonal relation.
