The connection between chosen personal characteristics and health

This work focuses on summarizing suspected and proven links between personality traits and health. First we recapitulate various theories linking personality traits and health - Type A personality, optimism, pessimism, five-factor model of personality, self-esteem, self-efficacy and more. Next we concentrate on the perception of this connection with doctors through interviews on the topic of "personality and health" in the empirical part. In the empirical part semi-structured interviews with doctors on the topic of "personality and health" were used to observe how doctors themselves percieve this connection. The aim is to find out where the doctors find that connection while working with their patients and how they use it in their medical practice. Keywords: personality, health, disease, medical practice

Purchase of a business undertaking for the purposes of s 502 (private medical practice)

- RESUME This work is concentrated on issue of purchase of medical practices which in this market period gains the importence. Even though today there is bigger and bigger demand for this transaction, legislation is not very well adapted to that. Medical practice can be perceived as undertaking pursuant to § 502 civil code. Because of that, it is possible to sell it (besides other ways) based on legal title business purchase contract pursuant to § 2175 civil code. Legal title business purchase contract is in practice used often, nevertheless whole process of purchase of medical practice based on legal title business purchase contract is not smooth. I would like to highlight the problems which can emerge. It is possible to divide this work into two parts. The first part deals with legal definitions and legal analysis of basic legal terms as undertaking, medical practice, provider of medical assistance services. We can find here also justification why it is possible to perceive medical practice as undertaking. The second part is focused on business purchase contract in general with specifics, which can arise in case of purchase of medical practice based on legal title business purchase contract. Valuation of general practitioner practice in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to valuate private medical practice of general practitioner and develop a project that would enable selling this practice in a five-year horizon. For the purpose of valuation I will assess the state of and outlook of the Czech health care system, I will perform financial analysis of the company. Based on information from the financial and strategic analysis I will compile financial plan and final valuation. Project of the sale will address the steps that have an impact on sale in terms of cost, transaction risk, tax perspective, financing and methods of the sale.
