Applying Functional Behavioral Assessment at Kindergarten for Children with Communication Disorder

The diploma thesis is specially pedagogical and deals with the possibilities of applying functional behavioral assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The theoretical part describes the given issue of communication disorder and the development of the child's social-emotional skills. The theoretical part also describes the problem behavior and the concept of functional behavior assessment. The practical part deals with four case studies of preschool children with repetitive problem behavior. The purpose of the qualitative research is to verify the applying functional behavior assessment at kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The main research question of the diploma thesis is to find the possibilities of using the principles of functional behavioral assessment in the chosen kindergarten for children with communication disorder. The research investigates which the behavior of children considered by the pedagogical staff of the selected kindergarten to be problem behavior. Special Educational Intervention in Children with Specific Language Impairment in the Kindergarten

This Masters thesis focuses on issues of Specific Language Impairment - SLI of children of pre-school age. It monitors and evaluates development of their communication and motor skills during their time in kindergarten. The theoretical part focuses on defining basic terms which relate to communication and communication disorder with the emphasis on SLI. The psychomotor and communicational development of child from birth to entering school is described too. Also how this all affected creating the Framework Educational Programme for preschool education. The aim of the empirical part was to observe four children with SLI during their attendance at a pre-school for children with specific needs. Speech and psychomotor development of these children and its changes in connection to their teachers' intervention was observed. Part of the research included interviews with children's parents and those are also evaluated. The survey was done by the qualitative method. We get four case histories. At the end was evaluated the aims of the survey and answered questions asked and summarized the results of my investigation.
Development of communication of skills of children with autism spectrum disorder

The bachelors thesis is of a special pedagogical character focusing on speech therapy. It deals with the development of communication skills in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The thesis goal is to introduce ASD issue; communication in general and with regard to people with ASD and with augmentative and alternative communication. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first part defines autism spectrum disorders, deals briefly with the causes, division and diagnosis. The second part describes communication as such, speech development and impaired communication skills. The third part deals with communication of people with autism spectrum disorders, speech development and these people communication specifics. It also mentions the possibilities offered by augmentative and alternative communications. The research investigation focuses on how ASD children communication is developed in a special kindergarten, or in a special class intended exclusively for children with ASD.
