Boušová, Marie ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Changes in the marital status in the age group from 15 to 59 years in the Czech Republic after 1930 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze the changes in population structure according to the individual marital statuses. For this analysis sex-specific and age-specific nuptuality rates and multistate life tables were use, in order to be able to describe transitions between the individual marital statuses. In the first part of this thesis the data sources and the methods of creating the transversal increment- decrement life tables were described. Following chapters deal with the historical development of the Czech Republic population since the year 1930 and the trends of nuptuality, divorce and mortality. Second part is dedicated to the analysis of the transitions between the individual marital statuses. The findings of this thesis conclude that people in the individual marital states tend to react similarly to the historical events in Czech Republic, unless some events are purposefully aiming to influence only a part of the population. Key words: nuptuality rate, divorce rate, mortality rate, marital status, multistate demography, transversal increment-decrement life tables, Czech Republic

Kahoun, Lukáš ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Maláková, Kateřina (referee)
Changes in population structures in the European Union countries based on census data Abstract Population structures have undergone dynamic development in recent decades. This thesis focuses on the development of structure by age, marital status, economic activity and education in 1991-2011. The thesis primarily uses census data, because they have unified methodology across EU countries. In particular, the thesis analyses the state and the change in the shares of the different structure categories, but also uses more detailed analytical methods. According to the results of the age structure analysis, all observed countries have aged considerably, which also influenced the development of other structures. The dominant trend in other structures was the rise in the share of single and widowed people, economically active women and higher-educated people. The thesis also deals with the influence of geographical location on the researched structures. Bigger homogeneity of structural changes was observed among geographically close countries. Zálešáková, Tereza ; Hamplová, Dana (advisor) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of happiness between married people and cohabiting non-married people in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part deals with the transformation of the partner relationships in the modern society. It focuses on sociological theories which explain the changes in family behaviour. It also explains and compares marriage and cohabitation of non-married people, which is a new and relatively widespread form of living. The key topic of this thesis is the happiness of the people depending on their marital status. The research part analyses ISSP data - Family and changing gender roles from 2012 using a multiple regression analysis. It tests the hypothesis based on the conclusions of the previous research, which indicate that married people are happier than cohabiting non-married people. However, this assumption was not proved to be true. Non-married cohabitation affects the happiness of people in a same way as marriage. The positive influence is strong enough within both, the control of the influence of basic sociodemographic characteristics, such as gender, age, education, as well are within the control of the influence of health.

Family and Men's Professional Status
Nosková, Soňa ; Hamplová, Dana (advisor) ; Trunda, Jiří (referee)
In this diploma thesis, I will study a relationship between family characteristics and men's professional status in Czechia. As a theoretical background, I will introduce sociology of family and sociology of employment. However, an empirical analysis may be considered a core of this thesis. The basic patterns and relationships are to be uncovered by quantitative analyses. These analyses will be based on individual data from Census 2001. I believe that the basic relationship between family and employment matters is relatively stable and thus this data from 2001 I use shall be sufficient for this purpose. The aforementioned relationship will be studied with correlation and regression analyses both across individual indicators and synthetic variables.
