Marina in the work of Jan van Goyen with regard to the collections of the National Gallery in Prague

This thesis deals with marine painting by one of the leading 17th century Dutch landscape painter Jan van Goyen. The art theme of the marine will be presented in the background of the cultural-historical context of the Golden Age of Dutch painting when the development of marine of the 17th century was conditioned by successful seafaring, which was one of the main pillars of the Dutch economy. The development of the marina genre will be described chronologically from the first generation of marine painters. Furthermore, the second generation to which belongs Jan Porcellis, the founder of the realistic tradition in the marina, had a great influence on the work of Jan van Goyen, who also belongs to the second generation. The main emphasis will be focused on the analysis of selected works by Jan van Goyen from the National Gallery in Prague. The method of formal and iconographic analysis will be applied to the selected works. The certain paintings will be further interpreted through the socio- cultural context of the time when the works were created. The third generation of marine painters will be introduced as well. Marine in the oeuvre of Jan van Goyen and his contemporaries in the context of Czech collections

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the selected works of the Dutch marine of the 17th century from the Czech collections, especially from the National Gallery Prague and the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The main emphasis will be focused on the selected works by one of the leading Dutch landscape painters Jan van Goyen and to his contemporaries as well. This thesis deals with Dutch marine in the context of Czech collecting and subsequently in Czech galleries. The art theme of the marine will be presented in the background of the cultural-historical context of the Golden Age of Dutch painting when the development of Dutch marine of the 17th century was conditioned by successful seafaring, which was one of the main pillars of the Dutch economy. Role of the European Union in protection of the marine environment

The presented thesis focuses on marine environmental law. Aside from providing an overview of marine environmental law on both intenational and European Union (EU) level, the thesis aims to show through an analysis and comparison, what the European Union takes on in the marine environment protection. The thesis approaches the EU in two different aspects, first as an supranational entity and second as an international organisation. The thesis in detail compates the international and EU law on prevention of vessel source pollution or pollution from land-based sources. It also includes an analysis of the new Framework directives on marine straegy and maritime spatial planning. The thesis arrives at conclusion that the duality of the EU being a supranational organisation on the one hand and an international organisation on the other enables the EU to achieve more stringend protection of maritime environment of European seas and also gives the EU better negotiating position as an actor on the international level.
Roman maritime trade in the Adriatic area according to finds from the shipwrecks.

in english language In my work I want to follow up Roman maritime trade in the Adriatic sea. I would like to describe the most common cargo according to finds from the shipwrecks. If need be also from where to where the merchant ship sails. I Intend to focus also on parameters of Roman merchant ships, next harbours and navigation routes. I would like to point out benefits of undersea research and it's importance for contemporary state of investigation. Than I want to describe common methods of undersea researches. The work is divided into two parts. First chapter of the first part is handling with historical connection of shipping in this area. Second chapter is dealing with Roman trade ships, it's looks, size, capacity and wals of constructions. Third charter is the largest. It offers repertoary of ship's cargo. It divides the most common cargo into: amphorae, stone objects, other ceramics, art and craft objects, metal objects, grain and glass objects. Fourth charter is dealing with harbours and anchorages and fifth chapter is dealing with navigation routes in the Adriatic sea.
