Turbocharger Regulating VNT Mechanism Load Simulation
Cetkovský, Martin ; Svída, David (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with turbochargers with a focus on the ways of their regulation. The main subject is to design CFD simulation for a turbocharger with VNT mechanism at specific positions. Simulation is based on the turbocharger Garrett by Honeywell, for which measurement was realized. Finally torques acting on the vanes are evaluated from the simulation. The means of results improvement are considered at the end of the thesis.
Use of additive technologies (3d print) for the production of turbine components
Vaculka, Alexander ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
In the first part of my bachelor thesis I deal with types of additive manufacturing technologies. Describing principle, technological solutions, bring up some advantages and disadvantages and typical area of their usage. Following part describes chosen turbine components and their mechanical property, shapes, and manufacturing aspects. Last part compares mechanical properties of additive manufactured components with components produced in conventional ways.
Solution technology of production "hřídel parní turbíny"-part with effective usage of contoured surface
Vacenovský, Igor ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to suggest the solution for the new technology of rotor grooves machining for vanes of the steam turbine. It contains the technology of rotor grooves machining. Various criteria are taken into account and the final solution is adapted to the conditions of EKOL, spol. s r.o. company. Technical and economical evaluation.
Wide range Francis turbine
Pavlík, Jan ; Žák, Radim (referee) ; Žák, Radim (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
his diploma thesis deals with hydraulic design of vane wheel impeller of wide range Francis turbine; in addition to hydraulic calculation it consists overview of used theory, modelling in SolidWorks and computing in Fluent.
Turbine Housing of Turbocharger VNT with Separated Pulses in Exhaust Manifold
Polášek, Jan ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of the turbine housing of turbocharger VNT for supplying separated pressure pulses from the exhaust manifold. Subsequently, the work includes strength analysis of the designed turbine housing. The aim of the thesis is to create components for the supply of separate pressure pulses as close as possible to the turbine. Furthermore, the modification of the existing turbine housing and the assessment of the functionality of the VNT mechanism after this modification and strength analysis. The final aim of this thesis is the creation of 2D and 3D technical documentation of newly designed and modified parts.
The design of screw pump
Hyriak, Maroš ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with the topic of Pumps with crew centrifugal impeller. Thanks to the benefits such as free passage and efficiency there are many practical applications of these products. Despite this fact there is only few manufacturers dealing with them what results in lack of research and available information in the area. In order to fill the gap, this thesis aims to propose hydraulic of screw centrifugal impeller to the specified parameters. The impeller with a single moving blade will be designed for pumping heavily polluted water and hardly pumpable liquids. Blade will be balanced together with the rotor, while the emphasis will be placed on the highest free passage of impeller. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes literature on the subject, practical part deals with the calculations and adjustments pointing to a concrete proposal. Parameters of designed hydraulics were verified using stationary calculations using MRF model in FLUENT. As a results, two possible solutions are offered.
On the milling of turbine blades
Raška, Tomáš ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this work is an introduction to milling of turbine blades. It is focused on description of turbines, of materials use for their manufacturing, of milling, of CAD/CAM systems, methods used to generate trajectories on complex surfaces and presentation of principal issues encountered during milling of turbine blades.
Shape optimization of new circumferential steam turbine blade attachment type
Mívalt, Tomáš ; Petruška, Jindřich (referee) ; Polzer, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis describes selection and shows calibration of material model, capable of describing cyclic softening of material. Stress-strain FEM analysis of circumferential blade attachment for last section of rotor blades of steam turbine is performed, expected lifetime of existing attachment is evaluated. Multi-parameter optimization of new-shape attachment was done, resulting in dimensions for new-shape attachment with longer lifetime. Improvements in strain amount in comparison with existing attachment were evaluated and possible RPM increase of turbine with new attachment type was calculated.
Ventilation calculations in synchronous machine
Judas, Jan ; Deeb, Ramia (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
The aim of the project was to get familiar with the environment of ANSYS CFX, create several models of fans and synchronous machine model in Autodesk inventor, create model of cooling medium flow through the machine with these fans and evaluation of results. Firstly the thesis describes the synchronous machine itself, losses of the machine, the flow of power of synchronous machine and methods of its cooling. Next the thesis describes each kind of heat transfer, laminar and turbulent flow. The thesis also refers of kind of the fans and the program used to calculate the flow Ansys CFX, including the method that Ansys used to calculate. The work describes the individual modification of fans and setting of calculation in ANSYS. Then displays the results of the analysis these fans for different numbers of fan blades and for modification of the fan. Then the thesis analyzes selected modifications due to changing speed. In the last chapter shows the analysis of flow in the machine with three different fans. In particular, there is shown the mass flow rate, pressure and its distribution on areas for evaluation.
Sensitivity analysis of flow through the vanes of the VNT mechanism
Čech, Martin ; Mrázek, Radim (referee) ; Vančura, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis analyzes the effects of various parameters of vane profile and position of VNT mechanism on the size of aerodynamic force which acts on the vanes and on the position of neutral axis of the vane. A CDF simulation was created to do this analysis, and the results of the simulation were evaluated. Thesis also deals with turbochargers in general and with other methods of their regulation.
