Employment of people with hearing disabilities in the Karlovy Vary region

This bachelor's thesis deals the employment of people with hearing impairment in the Karlovy Vary region. The aim of thesis is to map and provide insight into the employment opportunities for people with hearing impairments in the territory of the selected region, as well as the support options that people with hearing impairments can use from the point of view of state and non- profit institutions. In the first chapters of the theoretical part, the classification of people with hearing impairment, methods of communication, barriers and preparation for the profession of people with hearing impairment is briefly described. Subsequently, attention is paid to the issue of employment, the importance and possibilities of employment of person with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. Then the characteristics of the institutions that deal with the issue of employment of people with hearing impairment are specified. Specifically, it is the employment office, the public welfare society Tichý svět (The Silent World) and non-profit organization Czech Union of the Deaf. The study of Technology and inovation center contais the komplex of buildings with administrative and manufactured character. The komplex is situated into slightly steep terrain on the outskirts of town Telč. In the near of Technology Center are located the buildings with manufacturing charakter, warehouses and the residential buildings. The administration building provides operational, social – hygienic function and lunchroom. The production buildings provide hygienic, producing, warehousing and partly administrative function. Around the buildings are parking lots, pedestrian zone and green areas with new plated trees.

Kateřina Svěcená, Ph.D. Title: Job Opportunities for Occupational Therapists in Social Services Abstract: Background: In addition to healthcare, occupational therapy is also widely used in social services. In the Czech Republic, this area has not yet been mapped in any detail. Within social services, there is a significant problem with the payment of health care workers, occupational therapists also face a non-uniform official position within social services. Goal formulation: The work aims to map and describe the current situation of employment of occupational therapists in social services in the Czech Republic. Four questions of the bachelor's thesis are chosen to fulfill the goal. Methodology: A structured survey is compiled for all occupational therapists working in the field of occupational therapy in the Czech Republic, which is sent online. The survey is divided into two main parts. It is designed so that the questions of the bachelor's thesis could be answered with the help of it. Results: 265 responses are received from respondents. Job opportunities for persons with hearing impairments

The diploma thesis focuses on the employment of persons with hearing impairments. In the theoretical part, the introductory chapters pay attention to the terminological definition from the perspective of surdopaedia, classification of hearing impairments and the possibility of communication of persons with hearing impairments. Furthermore, the theoretical part is devoted to approaches to education and education systems for persons with hearing impairments. The thesis also describes the situation of employing persons with hearing impairment not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Germany, Slovakia and Great Britain. In the practical part, the situation of work of persons with hearing impairments is analyzed by means of a research survey, which has the character of mixed research. A structured interview for clients of the organization Silent world and a semi-structured questionnaire were used for the research investigation. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the situation of work of persons with hearing impairment and possibilities of work of persons with hearing impairments in the Czech Republic, this goal is achieved by research investigation. Analysis of job opportunities in the tourism industry

The main objective of this thesis is to define and describe in detail job opportunities in the tourism industry and to research current employer needs. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining of job opportunities in the tourism industry and on determination of factors and subjects which influence the labour market in the tourism industry. One of the chapters explains the meaning of the education in the tourism and compares the education system with labour market needs. The second part concentrates on the analysis of job offers on the internet. Results of the analysis allow describing job opportunities regarding to their structure, region and tourism sector in which they ensue. Employer needs arise from the job offer analysis too and they are expressed by demands on education, training, language skills and other important skills.
