International contracts for supply of industrial works

This thesis aims to present the terms industrial works and industrial construction and issues relating to defining them. It furthermore focuses on summarization of characteristics and particularities of selected principal international documents, which deal with the topic of international contracts on supply of industrial works (FIDIC standard forms of contract, UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts and Legal Guide on Drawing Up International Contracts for the Construction of Industrial Works issued by UNCITRAL) and regular parts typically contained in the international contracts on supply on supply of industrial works, especially in relation to dispute settlement and arbitration. The thesis furthermore addresses competition law issues relevant to the international supply of industrial works. This thesis is, in logical sequence, divided into five chapters, including the conclusion. International contracts for construction of industrial works

This master's thesis is concerned with international contracts for construction of industrial works. The aim of this work is to present to its readers the international aspects of this business transaction and to analyze the legal regime of international contracts for construction of industrial works from the perspective of the Czech law applicable on such contracts. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the use of standard conditions of contracts and their role in overcoming the differences between laws of different states. International construction contracting was chosen as a subject of this thesis because it belongs among vividly developing areas of international business. By the nature of its subject the thesis uses mostly analytical, descriptive and comparative legal research methods. However, the thesis does not stop at mere description of its subject, but points its reader's attention to the most salient and problematic features of it. International Contract for Large Industrial Works

Large industrial works represents an interesting subject of foreign trade in which countries may have competitive advantage. These industrial works also forms a large part of the state economy. Contracts that covers such transactions are very difficult, whether due to the volume and duration of supply, and because of possible problems with funding, with the political situation at the place of delivery, etc. Contracts covering such a transactions could be very tricky to draft because of either volume and duration of supply, funding issues or political instability in the region etc. The aim of this thesis is to introduce basic concept and principles that are linked to international trade with large industrial works. The thesis is mainly focused on contracting opportunities, ie the general approaches to contracting for the supply of capital equipment. The main theme is - within the specification, form of contract for the supply of capital equipment, as well as other resources that can be used during drafting the contract, such as commercial conventions and more. Export financing of complete industrial plants trade with state support

The thesis deals with the financing of complete industrial plants exports with state support. The author is initially engaged in Export Strategy of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on companies founded by the state in order to support exports. Legislation in this field follows. The greatest emphasis is placed on methods of medium- and long-term export financing. One part of the thesis is a case study illustrating the possible practical way of financing export transactions.
Business methods regarding export of capital goods

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the analysis of business methods regarding export of capital goods, particularly of tenders and PPP projects. Due to the longevity, complex relationships and financial demands regarding exports of capital goods, the thesis also focuses on methods of financing export of capital goods. Legislation regulating public procurement and PPP projects at the global, European and national level is also mentioned. Recently, Czech exporters get increasingly involved in the international supply of capital goods, many domestic enterprises in the role of general contractor. I will introduce several successful exporters of capital goods and also focus on export opportunities for Czech companies.
Specifics of the turn-key investment's export to Russian Federation financed by Czech Export Bank

The thesis presents specifics of the turn-key investment's export to Russian Federation financed by Czech Export Bank Plc. (the "CEB"). The aim of this thesis is to outline the general procedure applied in CEB towards export financing of turn-key investments, as well as to the Russian market. Furthermore, this thesis describes mutual trade relations between the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation, as well as possible difficulties that might occur during the export to Russia. Theoretical knowledge is reflected to the final case study describing the financing in form of the buyer's credit provided by CEB.
Current Practice of Financing and Risk-Hedging in the Export of Investment Units

The thesis concerns trade risks and trade finance focused on investment units. The author starts with the definition and characteristics of an investment unit. Than moves on to describe the particular types of trade risks and identifies their specifics in terms of the chosen industry. He further briefly deals with the methods of risk management and risk hedging as well as financing risks from the bank's perspective. A principal part of the thesis is dedicated to long-term trade finance. In particular, it describes the distinctive financing models: supplier credit, buyer credit, pre-shipment finance as well as other, more complicated types, such as project financing, local cost financing or financing from capital markets. A case study of a trade finance operation, prepared in a close cooperation with professionals, is included.
