Proposal for Intercultural Competence Development of IKEA Management

Bachelor´s thesis deals with the elements of intercultural communication, and also is concerned with forms of intercultural competences development. It analyses this kind of managerial competences in concrete company and finally defines the needs of their development. The scheme of the educational course is assembled the way that would satisfy the development needs.
Multilingualism and Interculturality in international or interregional projects and work environments.

The master thesis aimed to find out structural and individual strategies of managing multilingualism and interculturality within the BOKU - International Relations working team. In the first part of this work I set up a theoretical research framework focused on the following key topics : intercultural management, intercultural competence, intercultural teams, communication and challenges. The last part of the theoretical part describes the existing models about the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences working environment I referred to. Empirical data were collected using data triangulation through document analysis and qualitative semi-structured interviews to demonstrate the structural and individual strategies of managing multilingualism and interculturality of six BOKU-IR team members. They were then analyzed by sequences and transcribed with the software FOLKER according to the convention GAT2. The results show an overview of the intercultural management and the strategies used to deal with multilingualism and interculturality within the BOKU- International Relational working environment.
Analysis of German textbook materials for lower - secondary schools from 90s up to now focusing on the development of composing realia

This thesis is concerned with the analysis of sets of German language textbooks intended for the second grade of elementary school dating from the nineties until now from the point of view of the historical development of the mediation of language culture and background. The theoretical part clarifies the terms substantial for the issue in question, it describes the historical development of language culture and background teaching, individual approaches to the mediation of language culture and background and while doing so, it follows the fundamental publications concerning the didactics of language culture and background and also crucial works regarding the analysis of textbook sets. The practical part describes the design of the research, its division to stages, the sample of the textbooks analysed and the establishing of the criteria according to which the textbooks will be analysed. On the basis of thus established criteria, nine textbook sets have been analysed. The method utilised was content and comparative analysis. The fundamental part of this thesis presents the results and the final evaluation. Bilingual schools and European projects

The theme of this dissertation thesis is the relation of bilingual education and educational projects aimed at European issues. The research part was conducted at bilingual upper secondary schools in the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain (Wales). In the thesis the themes such as European politics, intercultural dialogue, international peace, human rights, humanitarian aid and language education are primarily included into European issues. The empirical research was deliberately realized at bilingual schools, where the instruction is delivered throught the medium of two languages. With regard to this fact a frequent participation at educational projects with European focus (European projects) was anticipated at these schools. European projects are often interconnected with the laguage studies. In recent years education projects have been an important part of the curriculum in Czech, German and British environment and they play a vital role in education context. The projects enrich the bilingual instruction from both methodical and content perspective and enable launching cooperation between schools and other partner institutions. Sociocultural disability of foreign pupils and professional qualification of teachers The aim of the dissertation thesis is to analyze the vocational qualification of teachers in relation to socio-cultural disability of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue). The theoretical part presents current knowledge regarding the issues of education of foreign pupils (pupils with a different mother tongue) in Czech and foreign background. It defines basic approaches to socio-cultural disabilities and content framework of vocational qualification in relation to foreigner's pupils. The theoretical part is based mainly on the latest intercultural education, special education and other educational disciplines. Another source of information is an empirical study which determines what should be the content of training teachers to effectively teach foreigner's pupil (the pupil with a different mother tongue). The empirical part presents the results of research focused on the training of teachers in relation to foreigner's pupils. The objective of the research was refined by formulation of research questions. The development of intercultural competences of children of pre-school age focused on growth of perceptiveness towards the different kinds of environment.

The main aim of this work is to suggest an educational offer for development of intercultural competences of pre-school children with focus on development of their sensitivity towards different enviroments. The theoretical part characterises the child of pre-school age and clarifies the term learning at nursery school. It also focuses on intercultural psychology, intercultural training and the role of a teacher at acquiring intercultural competences of children. The practical part is divided into six parts field-tested with pre-school children. In the last part all the activities are summarized. There is also casuistry of sensitive perception of different parts of the Earth by children of the nursery school in Čejetice.
