Comparison of immigrant integration policies in Australia and New Zealand

The Master's thesis Comparison of immigrant integration policies in Australia and New Zealand aims to analyse and compare institutional framework and official state policies of Australia and New Zealand towards immigrants with focus on the post 1945 period. Second, it offers a comparison of the objectives of these policies versus the outcomes/practices. Last but not least, it looks at the policies of both Pacific countries in the context of the 'clash of multiculturalism' debates. It is divided into three major parts. The first one serves as an introduction of the topics and consists also of the clarification of the theoretical concepts utilized as well as it offer the explanation of the methodology. Second part includes the case studies of immigration Australia and New Zealand, respectively. The third and last part provides the comparison of both cases and additional findings and notes related to the topic. Development of integration policies in Norway before and after 2011

This thesis is focused on the development of the Norwegian integration policies from the year 2005 until 2017. The milestone of the researched period is the year 2011 when two terrorist attacks, committed by a Norwegian citizen Anders Behring Breivik, shocked Norwegian society. He pointed his act against the immigrant population living in Norway, and against multiculturalism and the politicians who supported this model. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to find out which changes were made in the field of integration policies during the examined period. Furthermore, the aim is to tell whether the integration policies were tightened or not. The thesis first deals with the development of migration in the Norwegian context, the multicultural approach to immigrants, but it also sums up the development of Norwegian political scene during the examined period. The final part is focused on the research of particular Norwegian integration policies and their development between 2005 and 2017.

Topic of immigration and integration of foreigners to the majority has become more relevant in last few years in Czech and Slovak public. This essay deals with migration and integration on the level of government policies, introduces basic documents and conceptions, which were accepted in those states and the role of ministries and regions. Consequently, situation in both states is compared. In the second part of the essay, non-governmental organization and their role in the field of migration and integration are introduced and chosen aspects of three pairs of NGOs are compared with the effort to put them into the broader context. Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) like a Stakeholders of Integration Policy in Relation to the Foreigners

This diploma thesis "Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) as a Stakeholders of the Integration Policy in Relation to the Foreigners" discsusses the Czech integration policy and the role of these organizations in the process of formation and implementation of this policy. It provides basic insight into the integration policy and process of its making, focuses on the role of individual stakeholders in this process, examines the relationships between the concerned stakeholders and focuses on problem areas connected with the theme of this thesis. This thesis is based both on information obtained from available sources (legislation, strategies, researches, etc.) and the views and opinions of representatives of the nonprofit sector and employees of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic, which were formed on the grounds of their experience. The process of integration of foreigners is closely related to the phenomenon of migration, which has been an integral part of the life of all societies in different periods of time. Now as in the past, when the topicality of this issue is confirmed by the overall statistics of the population in the world as well as by the number of migrants. Integration Courses: Last Stage of Swedish Efforts to Incorporate Immigrants

The diploma thesis Integration Courses: Last Stage of Swedish Efforts to Incorporate Immigrants analyzes integration arrangements in the context of the evolution of Swedish integration policies. Through theoretical models of incorporation the author argues that use of these courses is a consequence of various factors with a lack of immigrants' incorporation and increasing welfare state activation as the most significant. The process of welfare state activation does not focus exclusively on the immigrants, nevertheless, in the policy area of immigrant integration some of the activation features are most visible. The modern state delegates much more duties on individuals who can not rely on its protecting hands as they were used to earlier. As the state requires more from all its citizens, immigrants are expected to strive for their integration more pro-actively. The participation in the integration courses belongs to one of the duties the immigrants must accept. The Swedish approach is, however, a bit specific, since the courses' participation is not mandatory for all immigrants but a targeted group of newcomers.
